Campgrounds and RV parks near East Galesburg, IL

East Galesburg sits on the eastern edge of Galesburg in Knox County, west-central Illinois, at the crossroads of I-74 and US-34. The land is flat to gently rolling farmland with a mix of private RV parks and public land camping within an hour's drive. Interstate 74 and US-34 are wide and straightforward, and Galesburg's downtown grid is easy to navigate even in a larger Class C. Close-in private options include Cabin Fever Campground and Hunt Club, Shady Lakes RV Resort, and Haven Hills Campground & Resort. Cabin Fever is located in Victoria, Illinois, about 20 minutes from Galesburg, 35 minutes from Kewanee, and roughly 50 minutes from Peoria and the Quad Cities, with five lakes for fishing and swimming on the property. For state park camping, Woodchuck Ridge at Jubilee College State Park lies to the east near Brimfield. Jubilee College State Park is a 3,200-acre facility in Peoria County between Kickapoo and Brimfield, just off U.S. Route 150, with rolling topography and meandering Jubilee Creek. To the north, Geneseo Campground puts RV travelers along the Hennepin Canal near I-80.

State park sites at Woodchuck Ridge and the other Jubilee College loops are reserved through the Illinois DNR reservation portal at ExploreMoreIL. Permits are required and can be obtained from site staff or the campground host. The equestrian loop works differently: equestrian sites are not reserveable, and a campground host at the front of the campground registers guests, or it is self-pay during winter months. Private parks handle bookings directly. Geneseo Campground offers 59 pull-thru sites, 12 back-in sites, 4 cabins, and a yurt, and accepts online bookings including same-day reservations until 6 pm CST. Cabin Fever Campground and Hunt Club, Shady Lakes RV Resort, and Haven Hills Campground & Resort take reservations by phone or through their own websites. Book summer holiday weekends several weeks in advance.
