Campgrounds and RV parks near Enfield, IL

Enfield sits in White County in southeastern Illinois, roughly halfway between Evansville, Indiana and the northern edge of the Shawnee National Forest. The town itself is small and rural, so RV travelers typically base their trip around the state parks, private RV parks, and interstate campgrounds that ring the area within about an hour's drive. Beall Woods State Park covers 635 acres on the banks of the Wabash River in Wabash County, protecting a tract of virgin timber where trees reach 120 feet tall and more than 3 feet in diameter. Across the river in Indiana, Harmonie State Park sits on the Wabash about 25 miles northwest of Evansville and offers camping, cabins, shady picnic areas, and ravines. Closer to the interstate, the Grayville / I-64 KOA Holiday provides a full-service stop for travelers pushing through on I-64, while Whittington Woods Campground and Double M Campground give access to Rend Lake and southern Illinois recreation. Together these five options span the range from full-hookup RV parks to rustic, first-come state park sites.

State parks in Indiana and Illinois use separate reservation systems. For Harmonie State Park, book through the Indiana DNR reservation portal on ReserveAmerica. Reservations must be made at least 2 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 12 months in advance. Summer weekends and the fall color window often sell out early, so a cancellation-watch tool can help if dates are locked. Beall Woods State Park in Illinois runs differently. Sixteen Class C campsites with vehicular access and restrooms but no showers or electricity are available, a disposal station is on site, and no reservations are necessary for the campground. Arriving early on Friday is wise for a summer weekend. Private parks including the Grayville / I-64 KOA Holiday, Whittington Woods Campground, and Double M Campground take direct reservations by phone or through their websites.
