Most sites are within 15 to 30 minutes of downtown Moline and its riverfront attractions, so travelers can base camp on the water and still reach museums, restaurants, and grocery runs quickly.

Reservation rules vary by campground, so check each property before locking in a route. Illiniwek reserves camp sites on a first-come, first-served basis, while Loud Thunder accepts online reservations. Maximum stay at Illiniwek is 14 nights in any 30-day period. Private parks such as Lundeen's Landing Campground and Tube Rentals, Lundeen's Rock River Landing, Sun Retreats Rock River, and Rock Island / Quad Cities KOA Holiday take reservations directly through their own websites or the KOA booking system, and holiday weekends typically fill weeks or months in advance. Before booking, confirm rig-length limits, hookup amperage (30 vs. 50), and whether the site is back-in or pull-through, particularly for larger Class A rigs and fifth wheels.
