Campgrounds and RV parks near Milan, IL

The Rock River is the local draw. Lundeen's Landing Campground and Tube Rentals runs float trips directly from its property, and Lundeen's Rock River Landing offers similar water access for kayaks and small boats. Anglers target smallmouth bass, walleye, and channel catfish along the same stretch. In the Quad Cities, the Mississippi River waterfront in Moline and Davenport has paved bike paths, riverboat casinos, and the John Deere Pavilion. Rock Island Arsenal Museum, Black Hawk State Historic Site, and Niabi Zoo in nearby Coal Valley are practical family stops. For rainy afternoons, the Figge Art Museum and Putnam Museum sit across the river in Davenport, both a short drive from any of the local campgrounds.

Camping season in the Milan area generally runs from April through late October. Private parks including Rock Island / Quad Cities KOA Holiday and Shady Lakes RV Resort typically open in spring once overnight lows stay above freezing, and most close or reduce services by early November. A handful of sites offer limited winter hookups, but water lines are commonly shut off during hard freezes. Summer is peak season. July and August weekends fill quickly at riverside parks, especially around the Fourth of July, the John Deere Classic PGA tournament in Silvis, and Quad Cities Marathon weekend in late September. Booking several weeks ahead is standard for holiday weekends. Spring flooding on the Rock and Mississippi Rivers can affect low-lying sites at Lundeen's Landing Campground and Tube Rentals, Lundeen's Rock River Landing, and other riverfront properties. Renters should call ahead in April and May to confirm site availability after high-water events.

Sites near Milan lean toward full-hookup RV parks rather than primitive tent camping. Rock Island / Quad Cities KOA Holiday and Shady Lakes RV Resort offer level pads, 30 and 50 amp service, laundry, and Wi-Fi of varying reliability. Interstate RV Park is a straightforward highway park with easy pull-throughs. The Lundeen's properties are more rustic and river focused, with shaded sites, sandy launches, and tube-rental service on site. Expect gravel roads, mosquitos near the water in July, and quieter weeknights. Cell coverage across the Quad Cities is strong on all major carriers. Grocery, propane, and RV supply stops are available in Milan, Moline, and Rock Island within a short drive of every listed campground.
