Campgrounds and RV parks near Pittsfield, IL

Water recreation drives most trips here. The Mississippi and Illinois Rivers frame Pike County, with channel catfish, bass, and crappie among the common targets, plus boat ramps and marina access at Rockport. Lake Pittsfield, a municipal recreation lake just outside town, adds boating, fishing, and shoreline trails close to Pittsfield. Siloam Springs State Park offers roughly 12 miles of hiking trails and 23 miles of equestrian trails through forested valleys and ridgetops, a spring-fed lake with six fishing piers stocked with rainbow trout, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and crappie, and a separate horse camp area. Pike County also draws hunters in fall and spring for trophy whitetail, turkey, and waterfowl seasons. Families staying at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Pine Lakes have access to on-site pool, beach, mini golf, jumping pillow, and scheduled character activities.

The climate is humid continental: warm, humid summers and cold winters with regular snowfall. July is the warmest month, with average highs near 84°F, and January is the coldest, with average lows near 22°F. Snow is common from late November into March, and June through August are the most humid stretch. Peak RV season runs late spring through early fall. Siloam Springs State Park is open year-round, and Pine Grove Campground accepts reservations through the Illinois DNR system on a rolling 180-day window, so plan ahead for summer and fall weekends. Holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July when it falls Friday through Monday, and Labor Day) require a two-night minimum at Illinois DNR sites, and private resorts often set similar minimums. Fall is the busiest hunting stretch in Pike County, so private RV parks fill up during deer archery, firearm, and late-winter seasons. Spring brings wildflowers at Siloam Springs and turkey season across the county.

Hookup levels vary by property. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Pine Lakes offers full-hookup RV sites with water, sewer, and electric, pull-through options for larger rigs, and a mix of cabins and tent sites. Two Rivers Marina and Campground provides full-service sites with water, sewer, and 30- or 50-amp power, plus shower and laundry facilities and river access. Pine Grove at Siloam Springs State Park has 50 sites, with 49 Class A sites offering 30- or 50-amp electric and one non-electric site, flush toilets, showers, and a dump station located outside the campground. Maximum RV length at Pine Grove is about 36 feet. Water is not provided at individual state-park sites, so fill tanks on arrival. Expect limited cell coverage inside Siloam Springs due to heavy tree cover, gravel or grass pads at smaller parks, and quiet, rural surroundings across the region.
