Campgrounds and RV parks near Bourbon, IN

Water access drives most trips. Hoffman Lake Campground sits on Hoffman Lake with fishing, a private beach, a boat ramp, a pool and splash pad, a rec hall, mini-golf, and bike rentals. Rupert's Resort Campground sits on the west shore of Lake of the Woods, a 416-acre all-sports lake, with 100 shaded campsites among mature trees and a boat launch, beach, and boat rentals. Lakeview Campground offers a quieter lake setting with fishing and swimming. Off the water, families can tour Amish country north of Bourbon. Pla-mor Campgrounds sits on US-6 east of Bremen, within reach of Nappanee, Shipshewana, and Amish bakeries. Plymouth hosts the Marshall County Blueberry Festival over Labor Day weekend, and Potawatomi Wildlife Park south of Bourbon in Tippecanoe has trails through woods and around water.

Most private campgrounds around Bourbon run a standard northern-Indiana season. Facilities in the Plymouth and Bremen area typically operate from mid-spring through mid-fall, with only a few open year-round. Hoffman Lake Campground, INC. operates seasonally from mid-April through September. Pla-mor Campgrounds opens in the spring and stays open through the fall camping season. Rupert's Resort typically closes at the end of the fall camping season and reopens in early May. Summer is peak. Holiday weekends, Fourth of July, and the Blueberry Festival draw the heaviest bookings, and family-focused parks with pools and organized activities fill first. Weekday stays in June and August are usually easier to secure than weekends. Spring and fall are quieter but come with tradeoffs. Heavy spring rainfall can affect site conditions, with flooding reported at some parks including Pla-mor Campgrounds after major storms. Fall brings cool nights and color through the hardwoods but shorter operating hours at camp stores and pools. Winter camping options are very limited: plan on a year-round park or a fully self-contained rig.

These are family-style lake campgrounds, not wilderness sites. Expect a mix of seasonal residents and short-term guests, grassy or gravel pads, and pools, playgrounds, and camp stores as standard. Hoffman Lake Campground has around 200 campsites, with roughly 150 seasonal and 50 for nightly rental. Rupert's Resort has 100 shaded sites among mature trees. Hookups vary. 30-amp service is standard, 50-amp is limited, and full hookups are not universal. Pla-mor Campgrounds offers 30 and 50-amp sites with graveled pull-throughs and a mix of water-and-electric and full-hookup sites, while Rupert's has mostly 30-amp with a few 50-amp pull-throughs and limited sewer sites. Cell coverage is generally usable, though streaming over park Wi-Fi is often unreliable. Sites can feel close together at the busier parks, and grassy pads soften after heavy rain. Mosquitoes and gnats are common near the lakes in mid-summer, so pack repellent. Firewood is often sold on-site.
