Campgrounds and RV parks near Clarks Hill, IN

Clarks Hill sits in Tippecanoe County in west-central Indiana, roughly a dozen miles south of Lafayette and inside easy reach of I-65. The town itself is small and rural, so RV travelers use it as a quiet base for exploring the Wabash River corridor, Sugar Creek country, and the Purdue University area to the north. Campground options in the surrounding area range from full-hookup private parks to a modern state-park campground. Big Fish-n-Camp Ground and Old Mill Run Park are among the closest private options, while Crawfordsville KOA Journey sits to the southwest along US 231 and Sugar Creek Campground and Canoe Rentals lies west along Sugar Creek. Prophetstown State Park, north of Lafayette near Battle Ground, offers a modern campground with 110 spots for RV camping, the largest public campground in the immediate region. Most private parks in this area operate spring through fall, while Prophetstown State Park stays open year-round with reduced amenities in winter. Sites suitable for larger rigs are common at the KOA and at Prophetstown, while creek-side private parks lean toward smaller RVs and tents.

Prophetstown State Park is reserved through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reservation system on ReserveAmerica, available online or by phone. Reservations must be made 2 Day(s) ahead of arrival and can be made up to 12 Month(s) in advance. Because the 110-site modern campground fills quickly on weekends, early booking is recommended for summer stays. Crawfordsville KOA Journey is booked directly through KOA, with pull-through sites for big rigs offering electric, water, and sewer hookups. Larger pull-throughs go fast and should be reserved early. Private parks such as Big Fish-n-Camp Ground, Old Mill Run Park, and Sugar Creek Campground and Canoe Rentals typically take reservations by phone or through their own websites. For paddling weekends on Sugar Creek, reserve canoe or kayak shuttles at the same time as the campsite.
