The town serves as a quiet base for RV travelers who want farmland and small-town access without staying inside the Indianapolis metro. Most surrounding campgrounds lie within a 30-minute drive, clustered around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway corridor to the northeast and rural Hendricks and Putnam counties to the west. Raceview Family Campground sits on 55 acres on County Road 1000 E, directly across from Lucas Oil Raceway, roughly 7 miles west of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and 12 miles from downtown Indianapolis. Indianapolis Speedway MHP and Brickyard - Lot provide additional race-weekend options close to the Speedway itself. Sites in the region range from primitive to electric, with 30- and 50-amp service common at private parks.

Private campgrounds in the Clayton area typically take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone.
