Campgrounds and RV parks near Farmland, IN

Water and lake activities anchor most trips. Summit Lake State Park has a swimming beach open Memorial Day through Labor Day, three boat ramps, and rentals including paddle boats, row boats, and canoes on its idle-speed-only lake. The park is stocked with bass, crappie, yellow perch, channel catfish, walleye, and sunfish, and has four hiking trails ranging from easy to moderate. On-site amenities at Adventure Bound Kamp Modoc include Adventure Island Water Park with lake inflatables and a swimming beach, plus a jump pad, pedal boats, water trikes, a fishing pond, GaGa ball, playgrounds, and themed weekend events throughout the season. Aviation-minded travelers can drive the flying fields at the International Aeromodeling Center in Muncie and visit the National Model Aviation Museum on the same property.

The main camping season in east-central Indiana runs from April through October. Summit Lake State Park is open year-round for camping, but its swimming beach only operates Memorial Day through Labor Day, and most Indiana DNR properties turn off water and close modern restrooms from November through April. The International Aeromodeling Center flying site closes over the winter, and its campground reopens on April 1 for the new season. Summer weekends and holidays fill fastest, particularly lakeside sites at Summit Lake, which tend to book up well ahead. Themed weekend events at Adventure Bound Kamp Modoc, including Halloween weekends in October, drive strong demand into fall. Spring and fall bring cooler temperatures, changing foliage, and fewer crowds, but May typically has the most rain days and early April can still see snow. Winter camping remains available at Summit Lake at a reduced rate with limited services, and most private resorts scale back or close between late fall and early spring.

Sites near Farmland lean rural and quiet. Adventure Bound Kamp Modoc sits in gently rolling countryside with gravel roads, mature trees in the older sections, a man-made lake near the entrance, and a large seasonal-camper community alongside weekend transient sites. Every site includes a fire ring and picnic table, and the entire resort is pet friendly. Summit Lake has two campground loops: one open loop with level sites, and a wooded loop with sloped sites, some with lake views. All campsites have electric and water hookups with modern comfort stations, though water spigots are shared between neighboring sites, so a longer hose is useful. Quiet hours run from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and staff enforce park rules strictly. Fox Lake Campground allows golf carts with a required annual registration valid across all iCampIndiana campgrounds, and pets must be leashed and attended at all times.
