Campgrounds and RV parks near Kirklin, IN

Kirklin is a small town in Clinton County in central Indiana, sitting along the historic Michigan Road roughly halfway between Indianapolis and Lafayette. The location puts RV travelers within an easy drive of two metro areas, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and a corridor of farmland, county parks, and small rivers that shape the local camping scene. Most campgrounds within reach of Kirklin are privately owned family parks rather than state or federal sites. Old Mill Run Park and Spring Hill Campground sit closest to town, while Raceview Family Campground draws Indy 500 and NASCAR crowds during race weekends. Big Fish-n-Camp Ground caters to anglers with stocked ponds, and Riverbend Campground offers direct access to the White River for fishing and paddling. The surrounding region is flat to gently rolling, with mature hardwoods along waterways and grain fields elsewhere. Sites tend to range from full-hookup pull-throughs to grassy back-ins, and cell coverage is generally reliable across the area.

Reservations for private campgrounds near Kirklin, including Old Mill Run Park, Spring Hill Campground, Raceview Family Campground, Big Fish-n-Camp Ground, and Riverbend Campground, are handled directly by each park through its own website or phone line. Deposits and cancellation windows vary, so review each policy before booking. Indiana state park campgrounds within driving distance, such as Turkey Run, Shades, and Prophetstown, use the Indiana DNR reservation system on Camp.IN.gov, operated through ReserveAmerica. Campsites can be booked up to six months in advance, and popular weekends fill quickly after the window opens. For Indy 500 and Brickyard weekends, book Speedway-area sites as far ahead as each park allows. Standard summer weekends typically need several weeks of lead time, while midweek stays and shoulder-season dates are usually easier to secure.
