Campgrounds and RV parks near Lynn, IN

On-site activities at the resorts do much of the heavy lifting for families. Adventure Bound Kamp Modoc runs Adventure Island Water Park with lake inflatables and a swimming beach, plus a jump pad, fishing pond, pedal boats, playgrounds, and themed weekend events including Halloween weekends. Richmond KOA Holiday adds a seasonal salt-water pool open Memorial Day through Labor Day, bike rentals, gem mining, a dog park, and an on-site cafe. Off-site, Richmond offers Thistlewaite Falls, the Whitewater Gorge Park, and the 62-mile Cardinal Greenway rail-trail, which starts a short drive from the KOA. Golfers can tee off at Highland Lake Golf Course, less than a mile from the KOA. Day trips reach Indianapolis Motor Speedway, downtown Dayton, and the covered bridges of western Ohio.

Most private campgrounds around Lynn operate on a spring-to-fall season. Peak booking runs Memorial Day through Labor Day, when pools open, water parks run, and weekend event calendars fill in. Families should reserve summer weekends and holiday weekends well in advance, especially at Adventure Bound Kamp Modoc, which draws heavy seasonal traffic. Spring and early fall are lower-pressure windows with cooler nights and fewer crowds. Wildflowers and greenery peak in May, and September through mid-October brings warm days, cool nights, and changing foliage along the Whitewater Valley. Rain is spread through the year in this humid-continental climate, with late spring and early summer often the wettest stretch. Winter camping options are limited. Cold temperatures, snow, and freezing overnight lows push most family resorts to close or restrict services from late fall through March. Travelers planning off-season trips should call ahead to confirm hookups, water availability, and gate access before booking.

Expect rolling farmland, gravel or paved interior roads, and a mix of shaded and open sites. Adventure Bound Kamp Modoc is the largest property in the area, with a big-resort feel, many seasonal campers, and a full weekend event schedule. Deer Ridge Camping Resort near Richmond offers around 60 full-hookup sites, several 50-amp pull-throughs, a heated pool, mini golf, laundry, and a general store, and is large-rig friendly. Richmond KOA Holiday offers 50-amp pull-through sites, deluxe cabins, tent sites, and quiet hours enforced overnight. Grandpas Farm Camp Ground is smaller and quieter with 30/50-amp full-hookup sites. Cell coverage is generally reliable, and both the KOA and Deer Ridge sit close to I-70, so light interstate noise is possible.
