Campgrounds and RV parks near Meridian Hills, IN

Meridian Hills is a small town just north of downtown Indianapolis on the White River, which puts RV renters within a short drive of the city's major campgrounds and RV parks. The closest option is the Indiana State Fairgrounds Campground on East 38th Street, roughly ten minutes south, which functions as both a year-round base and the primary lodging for Indiana State Fair attendees. The neighboring Indiana State Fairgrounds Campsite covers the same footprint and appears on booking platforms for shorter urban stays. West of the city, camping options cluster around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Brickyard - Lot and Indianapolis Speedway MHP sit close to the track, while Raceview Family Campground offers a more traditional RV setting near the same area. These parks fill quickly during the Indy 500, the Brickyard weekend, and the NASCAR and IndyCar race dates each summer. For renters willing to drive thirty to sixty minutes, Indiana state parks such as Fort Harrison, Mounds, and Brown County add wooded sites, electric hookups, and trail access to the Indianapolis camping map.

Private RV parks near Meridian Hills, including Raceview Family Campground, Indianapolis Speedway MHP, and the Indiana State Fairgrounds Campsite, are reserved directly through the operator's website or through third-party booking platforms. Speedway-adjacent sites such as Brickyard - Lot open reservations for race weekends well in advance, often the previous fall, and typically require multi-night minimums. Indiana state park campgrounds, including Fort Harrison and Mounds, are booked through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reservation system on ReserveAmerica, which handles campground, lodging, and picnic bookings statewide. Most sites can be reserved up to six months ahead. For any race weekend or the Indiana State Fair in August, book as early as possible; last-minute availability is rare.
