Campgrounds and RV parks near North Liberty, IN

North Liberty sits in north-central Indiana about 12 miles southwest of South Bend, with Potato Creek State Park offering a wide array of activities and facilities for year-round enjoyment. The town serves as a practical base for RV travelers heading to the park's lake, trails, and nearby Michiana attractions. The closest option is the state-run campground inside Potato Creek State Park, which includes a separate Horsemen's Campground for equestrian visitors. The main campground has 287 electric-only sites for tents and RVs, and the Horsemen's Campground adds 70 electric sites where all campers must have horses with them and all horses must have tags. Private options in the surrounding area include Maple Ridge Family Campground, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, and Mustang Sally's Park, which round out the choices for families looking for pools, planned activities, or full hookups. The park protects a variety of natural habitats including the 327-acre Worster Lake, old fields, mature woodlands, restored prairies, and diverse wetlands. RVers typically use North Liberty for groceries and fuel before heading to their site.

Potato Creek uses Indiana's state reservation system. Campsite and cabin reservations can be made online through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reservation system or by calling the reservation line. Reservations must be made 2 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 12 months in advance, so summer holiday weekends should be locked in as early as possible. The Horsemen's Campground uses a different window. Reservations must be made 1 day ahead of arrival and can be made up to 6 months in advance, and horse tags are required for every animal on site. Private parks such as Maple Ridge Family Campground, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, and Mustang Sally's Park take reservations directly through their own websites or phone lines, with deposits common for peak-season weekends.
