Campgrounds and RV parks near Waldron, IN

Waldron is a small community in Shelby County, in east-central Indiana, about 40 miles southeast of Indianapolis along the I-74 corridor. The town sits in gently rolling farmland near the Flatrock River, and most RV camping options in the area are private, family-run parks within a 30-minute drive rather than large state or federal facilities. Hidden Paradise Campground, located just off I-74 in nearby St. Paul, is the closest full-service RV destination and one of the larger parks in the region, spread across 80 acres along the Flat Rock River with a spring-fed quarry lake. Thorntree Lake Mobile Home Park and Campground and S and H Campground offer smaller, quieter alternatives with basic hookups, while CERA Sports Park & Campground in Columbus provides a larger recreational complex with a lake and full amenities. Blue's Canoe Livery, on the Driftwood River near Edinburgh, rounds out the local options with paddler-focused overnight camping. Together, the area works well for families combining short-drive RV trips with river recreation and easy access to Columbus and Indianapolis.

Almost every campground near Waldron is privately operated, so reservations are handled directly through each park rather than through a central system like Recreation.gov. Hidden Paradise Campground takes bookings online and by phone through its own site. CERA Sports Park & Campground offers online reservations through ceraland.org and provides a per-night discount for CERApass members. For summer weekends and holidays, book several weeks ahead at the larger parks. Confirm rig length, hookup type (water and electric versus full hookup with sewer), 30- or 50-amp service, and any pet or extra-vehicle policies at the time of booking. Blue's Canoe Livery accepts overnight camping tied to paddle trips and is best arranged by phone.
