Augusta is a small Ohio River town in Bracken County, roughly 42 miles southeast of downtown Cincinnati along Kentucky Route 8. The town sits opposite Higginsport, Ohio, with the historic Augusta Ferry providing the only public river crossing between the Combs-Hehl Bridge at Cincinnati and the William H. Harsha Bridge at Maysville. That location puts RV travelers within easy reach of campgrounds on both sides of the river. Closest to town, White Oak Marina & Campground, Cabin Run Creek Campground LLC, and Lawrence Creek Campground handle most short-drive RV stays. For a full state-park experience, Kincaid Lake State Park sits south in Pendleton County, with a 183-acre lake and a wooded campground. Across the river in Clermont County, Ohio, East Fork State Park Campground is one of the largest state parks in Ohio at roughly 4,870 acres. Most trips combine a riverfront base in Augusta with day trips to the state parks, Maysville, and Cincinnati.
