Campgrounds and RV parks near East Bernstadt, KY

East Bernstadt sits in Laurel County in southeastern Kentucky, minutes from I-75 and within easy reach of Laurel River Lake, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir bordered by the Daniel Boone National Forest. The area draws RV travelers for lake recreation, off-road riding, and access to national forest trails, with campgrounds ranging from full-hookup private parks to Forest Service sites near the water. Close-in options include Westgate RV Camping and Wildcat Adventures Offroad Park, the latter an East Bernstadt property with camping cabins, ATV and motorcycle trail access, and a camp store. Red Hill Horse Camp serves riders bringing stock, while Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA Journey and Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park sit a short drive south and north along the I-75 corridor. The surrounding Daniel Boone National Forest adds public-land options at Laurel River Lake, including Grove Drive-In and Holly Bay campgrounds, both bookable through Recreation.gov. The mix suits families wanting hookups, riders needing trail access, and travelers using East Bernstadt as a base for Cumberland Falls and other regional attractions.

Public campgrounds around Laurel River Lake are reserved through Recreation.gov. At Grove Drive-In, of the 40 drive-in sites, Loop B is reservable and Loop A is first come, first served, so travelers without a reservation still have a path in on shoulder-season weekdays. Holly Bay reservations can be booked up to six months in advance. Private parks including Westgate RV Camping, Wildcat Adventures Offroad Park, Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA Journey, and Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park take bookings through their own websites or through platforms such as KOA and RoverPass. Red Hill Horse Camp requires advance arrangement for stock sites. For summer holiday weekends and fall color, reserve six to eight weeks out.
