Campgrounds and RV parks near Hickman, KY

Hickman sits on the Mississippi River in the far western tip of Kentucky, in the Jackson Purchase region. RV travelers use it as a base for exploring three states within a short drive: the Kentucky bootheel, the Missouri boothill across the river by ferry, and the northwest corner of Tennessee. The town is small, so most full-hookup camping options sit a short drive away in neighboring counties. The closest developed state park campground is Airpark North at Reelfoot Lake State Park, which provides 14 RV sites with 30-amp electric and water hookups, plus 10 primitive tent-only sites, served by a bathhouse with hot showers. Union City RV Park and Coyote View RV Park and RV Repair offer commercial alternatives about 15 miles from the lake, useful for longer rigs or travelers who need laundry or repair services. North of Hickman, Columbus Belmont State Park sits on Mississippi River bluffs and offers a park-run campground within a Civil War historic site. Sportsmans Resort rounds out the local options with lake-adjacent sites near Reelfoot.

Sites at Airpark North and the South Campground at Reelfoot Lake go through the Tennessee State Parks reservation system. Advance reservations can be made up to one year ahead of arrival. Spring weekends book out months in advance, so lock in dates early for April and May trips. Columbus Belmont State Park bookings go through the Kentucky State Parks system on ReserveAmerica, either online or by phone. Reservations there can be made up to 12 months in advance and must be booked at least one day ahead of arrival. Firewood cannot be imported from out of state. Commercial options such as Union City RV Park, Coyote View RV Park and RV Repair, and Sportsmans Resort typically take reservations directly by phone with the operator; call ahead during hunting season and holiday weekends.
