Campgrounds and RV parks near Newport, KY

Newport sits on the south bank of the Ohio River, directly across from downtown Cincinnati and connected to it by the Purple People Bridge. RV travelers use the area as a compact base for a major metro without staying inside the city grid, with campgrounds spread along the river corridor and in the surrounding Northern Kentucky and East End neighborhoods. Close-in options lean toward full-hookup river-adjacent parks. Tuckers Landing RV Park, now operating as Morningstar Marinas and RV Resort, sits on Kellogg Avenue along the Ohio River, roughly a ten to fifteen minute drive from downtown, with level concrete pads and 30/50-amp full hookups. Cincinnati Campsites, Hidden Valley RV Park and Storage, and Riverfront RV Park round out the closer full-service options that work well for larger rigs staying near the city. For a more traditional camping feel, AJ Jolly Park & Campground sits about twenty-five minutes south in Alexandria on a 1,000-acre Campbell County park with a 200-acre lake, RV, tent, and hammock sites, and yurts. Travelers should confirm status directly with the park, as the campground has been listed as closed for the 2026 season and the lake is closed to fishing.

Private RV parks in the Cincinnati and Newport corridor generally take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and many are also listed on Campspot, Campendium, and Roadtrippers. Tuckers Landing RV Park, now branded as Morningstar Marinas and RV Resort, accepts bookings through Campspot and its own site, with concrete pads and full hookups on the riverfront. AJ Jolly Park & Campground is operated by Campbell County Parks, with camping reservations normally handled online at campbellcountyky.gov or by phone at 859-635-4423 or 859-547-3681. The campground is listed as closed for the 2026 season, so verify status before planning a stay. Shelter reservations are handled by phone. For holiday weekends and peak summer at private parks, book several weeks in advance, especially for 50-amp pull-through sites or larger rigs. Confirm site length limits before booking.
