Campgrounds and RV parks near Brownsville, LA

Brownsville is a small community in Ouachita Parish in northeast Louisiana, sitting just west of Monroe and West Monroe along the I-20 corridor. The area lies in the Ouachita River basin, a region of bottomland hardwoods, bayous, and productive bass water that draws anglers, boaters, and road-trippers year-round. RV travelers passing through the region typically base out of full-hookup parks clustered around Monroe and West Monroe. Pavilion RV Park, Ouachita RV Park, The Fishing Camp Tackle & RV Park, and 101 RV Park and Campground offer standard hookups and pull-through sites for larger rigs, while Ouachita Sportsplex accommodates travelers attending tournaments and events at the athletic complex. Most parks in the area operate year-round and cater to a mix of overnight I-20 travelers, seasonal workers, and anglers targeting the Ouachita River and nearby oxbow lakes. Sites tend to be gravel or grass with 30- and 50-amp service, and the flat terrain keeps leveling straightforward for renters new to RVs.

Private RV parks in the Monroe area, including Pavilion RV Park, Ouachita RV Park, The Fishing Camp Tackle & RV Park, and 101 RV Park and Campground, take reservations directly by phone or through their websites. Many also list availability on third-party platforms. Overnight I-20 travelers can often walk in midweek, but weekends near tournaments or holidays fill faster. For public lands, Louisiana State Parks including nearby Lake D'Arbonne and Chemin-A-Haut use the Go Outdoors Louisiana reservation system, with reservations accepted up to 13 months in advance online or by phone, and at least 48 hours ahead. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and national wildlife refuge sites use Recreation.gov. Booking six to eight weeks out is advised for spring and fall weekends.
