Campgrounds and RV parks near Marion, LA

Marion sits in Union Parish in north Louisiana, a rural pocket of piney hills and bayous roughly a half-hour north of Monroe. RV travelers use it as a base for Lake D'Arbonne, one of the region's largest fishing lakes, and for the quiet parish roads that connect small towns across the Ouachita River corridor. The closest developed camping is at Lake D'Arbonne State Park, a 655-acre park built around a 15,250-acre recreational lake, with piney forests, rolling hills, and five fishing piers. Private options nearby include D'Arbonne Pointe, Bayou Boeuf RV Park, The Oaks on Bussey, and The Fishing Camp Tackle & RV Park, which round out choices for pull-throughs, back-ins, and long-stay sites. Expect a mix of full-hookup sites geared to anglers and families, plus improved state-park sites with water and electricity. The area suits travelers who want lake access, hardwood shade, and easy day trips into Farmerville, Monroe, and Ruston without the crowds of a major destination park.

State-park sites are booked through the Louisiana State Parks reservation system at louisianastateparks.reserveamerica.com or by calling 1-833-609-0686. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance and can be made up to 13 months to the day ahead, and weekend stays require a two-night minimum. For holiday weekends and peak fishing weekends, book as early as the window opens. Private parks such as D'Arbonne Pointe, Bayou Boeuf RV Park, The Oaks on Bussey, and The Fishing Camp Tackle & RV Park handle reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Call ahead to confirm rig length, hookup type, and pet policies, since smaller parks may hold only a portion of their sites for online booking. Reservations inside the 48-hour window at the state park can be made by contacting the park directly.
