Campgrounds and RV parks near Midway, LA

Midway is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in LaSalle Parish, central Louisiana, bordered by Jena to the north and east and Good Pine to the west. U.S. Route 84 passes through the northern part of the community, and Louisiana Highway 8 runs through the southern part, making it easy to reach from Alexandria to the west and Natchez to the east. RV travelers passing through the area typically base themselves at small private parks in the surrounding rural corridor. Diamond T RV Park and Country Living RV Park sit closest to the community, while Red River Valley RV Park, Lakeview Paradise RV Park, and The Oaks RV Park expand options within a short drive. Most are owner-operated properties oriented to full-hookup travelers and long-stay guests moving through central Louisiana. The location works well as a stopover on the US-84 corridor and as a launch point for day trips to Catahoula Lake, the Catahoula National Wildlife Refuge, and the Catahoula Ranger District of Kisatchie National Forest. Terrain is gently rolling with pine woods, mixed hardwoods, and numerous bayous.

Private RV parks in the Midway corridor, including Diamond T RV Park, Country Living RV Park, Red River Valley RV Park, Lakeview Paradise RV Park, and The Oaks RV Park, are booked directly with the operator by phone or website. Many hold monthly and long-term sites for oil, timber, and construction workers, so calling ahead for nightly availability is recommended, especially on weekends. For public land, Kisatchie National Forest uses Recreation.gov. Reservable Kisatchie sites, including Valentine Lake Campground, can be booked up to six months in advance. Some Kisatchie campgrounds, including areas in the Catahoula and Kisatchie ranger districts, are first-come, first-served with on-site scan-and-pay. Kincaid Lake Campground has been closed for reconstruction following hurricane damage, so confirm status with the Calcasieu Ranger District before planning a stop there.
