Campgrounds and RV parks near Richmond, LA

Richmond is a small village in Madison Parish in northeastern Louisiana, sitting on Brushy Bayou in the flat Mississippi Delta lowlands. Interstate 20 passes through the south side of the village, with the corridor running west toward Delhi and east toward Tallulah and the Mississippi River crossing into Vicksburg. That highway is the spine of the local RV scene, and most travelers pass through as part of a longer east-west route. Sites cluster along the I-20 exits between Delhi and Tallulah. Ameristar RV Park and Quilly's Magnolia RV Park serve travelers stopping close to Richmond itself, while River Town Campground and Rivertown Rose Campground offer options near the river crossing. Delhi RV Park sits west of Richmond and is the closest private option to the region's main state park at Poverty Point Reservoir. The area works well as an overnight en-route stop between Dallas and the Southeast, and as a base for day trips to Vicksburg National Military Park, Poverty Point World Heritage Site, and Poverty Point Reservoir.

For the region's main public campground at Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in nearby Delhi, book through the Louisiana State Parks central reservation system. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the date desired and can be made up to 13 months in advance. A maximum stay of 15 consecutive days is allowed in the park. Private parks such as Ameristar RV Park, Quilly's Magnolia RV Park, River Town Campground, Rivertown Rose Campground, and Delhi RV Park generally take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites rather than through a state portal. Holiday weekends and hunting-season openers fill first, so lock in dates early. For campsites, if reservations are made 10 or more months in advance, customers have 10 days to send in the first night's use fee deposit or the reservation will be cancelled.
