Campgrounds and RV parks near West Dennis, MA

West Dennis sits on the south shore of Cape Cod in the town of Dennis, fronting Nantucket Sound and bordered by South Dennis, Dennis Port, and South Yarmouth. The village puts RV renters within a short drive of both bayside and sound-side beaches, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, and the mid-Cape commercial hubs of Hyannis and Yarmouth. Campground options near West Dennis skew toward private, full-hookup RV resorts close to the water. Sun Retreats Cape Cod, in neighboring Dennis Port, is the closest large RV park and sits near Nantucket Sound beaches. Old Chatham Road RV Campground sits inland toward Harwich, while Sweetwater Forest Camping Resort and Shady Knoll Campground are clustered near Brewster. For a state-run alternative, Nickerson State Park in Brewster is a 1,900-acre park with wooded sites among pine and oak forest and freshwater kettle ponds, roughly a half-hour drive north. Together these parks give renters a mix of beach-adjacent RV resorts and forested state-park camping within easy reach of West Dennis.

Nickerson State Park uses the Massachusetts DCR reservation system on ReserveAmerica, with reservations available up to four months in advance of the arrival date. Walk-in camping is not available, but same-day reservations can be made until 2 p.m. through ReserveAmerica. Campers and camping equipment are limited to 14 cumulative days occupancy in any one park between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and non-resident campers pay a per-night surcharge that funds Nickerson State Park directly. Private parks near West Dennis, including Sun Retreats Cape Cod, Old Chatham Road RV Campground, Sweetwater Forest Camping Resort, and Shady Knoll Campground, book directly through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends and holiday weeks should be locked in as early as possible, since inventory tightens fast once school lets out.
