Campgrounds near Argentine, Michigan
Argentine is a small township in Genesee County in southeast Michigan, set among the chain of lakes that runs through the Fenton and Linden area. The location puts RV travelers within a short drive of Argentine Lake, Lobdell Lake, and the Shiawassee River, with quick access to US-23 and I-75 for arrivals from Detroit, Flint, Lansing, and Toledo.
Private campgrounds dominate the immediate area. Hide Away Park Campground and Waldenwoods Resort and Conference Center sit closest to Argentine, while Walnut Hills Family Campground, Water's Edge Camp & Conference Center, and Taylor's Beach Campground round out the nearby options. Most offer full or partial hookup sites suitable for travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class C motorhomes.
The region has a humid continental climate with strong seasonal temperature contrasts, warm summers, and cold, snowy winters, which drives a clear May-through-October RV season for most parks in the area.
Things to do near Argentine
Water activities anchor most trips. Argentine Lake, Lobdell Lake, and Byram Lake support boating, fishing, tubing, and swimming, and several nearby private resorts include beaches or lake frontage for guests. Waldenwoods Resort and Conference Center is known for on-site lake access and family recreation, while Taylor's Beach Campground and Water's Edge Camp & Conference Center draw campers looking for waterfront sites.
Day trips are easy. Seven Lakes State Park and Holly Recreation Area are within a short drive and add hiking, mountain biking, and paddling. Downtown Fenton and Linden offer restaurants, breweries, and farmers markets. Families with children often pair a stay at Walnut Hills Family Campground or Hide Away Park Campground with visits to Crossroads Village in Flint.

The practical RV season in the Argentine area runs from late April or early May through mid-October. Most private campgrounds in Genesee and Livingston counties open around the first weekend in May and close in mid to late October. A handful stay open on limited services into November, but water lines are typically shut off once nighttime lows drop below freezing.
Summer is the peak booking window. July and August weekends fill fastest, especially around the Fourth of July and Labor Day, and many family-oriented parks require multi-night minimums for holiday stays. Weekday availability is generally easier, and shoulder-season visits in May, September, and early October offer cooler nights and thinner crowds.
Precipitation is moderate and spread relatively evenly through the year, with warmer months seeing the most rainfall and winter often bringing moisture as snow. Thunderstorms are common on hot afternoons, so plan awning use accordingly.

Booking and reservations
Private campgrounds around Argentine handle their own reservations directly through their websites or by phone. Hide Away Park Campground, Waldenwoods Resort and Conference Center, Walnut Hills Family Campground, Water's Edge Camp & Conference Center, and Taylor's Beach Campground each set their own deposit, cancellation, and minimum-stay rules, so confirm policies at the time of booking.
Nearby Michigan state park campgrounds, including Seven Lakes State Park and Holly Recreation Area, use the Michigan DNR reservation system at MiDNRreservations.com. State sites can be booked up to six months in advance on a rolling window, and popular holiday weekends often sell out the day they open. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry to Michigan state parks.
What to expect
Sites in the Argentine area range from open, sunny pads to shaded lots under mature hardwoods. Most private parks offer 30- and 50-amp electric, water, and either sewer hookups or a dump station on-site. Big-rig access is generally good, but interior roads at older family campgrounds can be tight, so confirm site length and turning radius when booking a larger motorhome or fifth wheel.
Amenities commonly include swimming pools, playgrounds, camp stores, and organized weekend activities during peak season. Cell coverage from major carriers is reliable across the region, and Wi-Fi is offered at most parks with variable speeds. Mosquitoes and biting flies peak in June and early July near lakeshore sites, so pack repellent.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Argentine, MI
How much does an RV rental in Argentine, MI cost on average?
Great news, an RV rental in Argentine is one of the more affordable getaways in southeast Michigan. Travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, while Class C motorhomes generally run $175 to $295 per night, with prices peaking in July and August when the Lobdell Lake and Silver Lake areas fill up. You can save by booking weeknights, traveling in May or September shoulder season, and using the price filter to find a cheap RV rental Argentine hosts are offering. Pro tip: many local owners discount weekly stays by 10 to 20 percent, so if you're planning a longer Argentine RV trip, message the host to ask about extended-stay pricing before you book.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Argentine%2C%20MichiganWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Argentine, MI?
Good news, a regular Michigan driver's license (or any valid US or Canadian license) is all you need to rent an RV in Argentine. There's no special endorsement or commercial driver's license required for the motorhomes, travel trailers, and campervans you'll find on RVezy here, even larger Class A coaches. All approved drivers must be 25 or older, and your ID is verified quickly and securely through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from overseas? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home-country license. Most first-time renters in the Argentine area are surprised at how simple the process is, you'll be road-ready in minutes.

Yes, every RV rental in Argentine booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can pull out of the driveway with real peace of mind. Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every reservation, and there's a grace period after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. If weather turns, plans change, or a natural event like a Michigan ice storm impacts your trip, RVezy's support team is there to help you sort it out. You'll see the exact terms that apply to your booking before you confirm payment, and 24/7 support is available throughout your trip. Go ahead and reserve that Memorial Day weekend at Seven Lakes State Park, you've got flexibility on your side.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Argentine, MI?
Absolutely, plenty of hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental Argentine travelers love, and finding one is as easy as clicking the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy. Once you arrive, your pup will have no shortage of places to roam: trails at Seven Lakes State Park in Holly allow leashed dogs throughout the day-use areas and campground, and nearby Genesee County parks have open fields and shoreline paths. Michigan state parks require pets to stay on a six-foot leash and out of designated swim beaches. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees (usually $25 to $75 per stay) and ask about pet-friendly campgrounds they recommend nearby.
michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/state-parks/rules-regulationsCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Argentine?
Yes, RV delivery in Argentine is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who don't want to drive a motorhome through Genesee or Livingston County traffic. Many local hosts will deliver to nearby campgrounds like Holly Recreation Area or Seven Lakes State Park, or straight to your driveway in Linden, Fenton, or Byron. They'll level the rig, hook up water and power, walk you through every system, and pick it up when you're done. Filter listings by Delivery to see who offers it, then message the host with your destination address for an exact quote, fees usually scale with distance.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038043734-Delivery-optionsHow far can I drive on a typical Argentine, MI RV rental?
You'll have plenty of room to roam. Many Argentine hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for an RV road trip from Argentine to Sleeping Bear Dunes (about 215 miles northwest) or up to Mackinaw City (around 240 miles). Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.45 each if you go over. Check the mileage policy on each listing before booking, it's right on the page next to the price. Pro tip: if you're planning a longer loop, like Argentine to Tahquamenon Falls and back (around 750 miles round trip), filter for unlimited-mileage listings to keep your costs predictable.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Argentine%2C%20MichiganWhere are the best campgrounds near Argentine, MI?
You're spoiled for choice. Some of the best campgrounds near Argentine sit within a 30-minute drive: Seven Lakes State Park in Holly has modern sites with electric hookups on rolling, wooded terrain; Holly Recreation Area offers many sites with paved pads near McGinnis Lake; Brighton Recreation Area provides electric sites in two campgrounds; and Groveland Oaks County Park in Holly has lakeside sites with a waterpark for kids. For RV camping Argentine families love, Myers Lake United Methodist Camp in Byron also offers seasonal sites. Book Michigan state parks at MiDNRReservations.com up to six months ahead, summer weekends fill fast.
midnrreservations.com/When is the best time to visit Argentine, MI in an RV?
Late May through early October is prime time for an Argentine RV trip, with June and September being the sweet spots: warm days in the 70s and 80s, cool nights perfect for campfires, and fewer mosquitos than peak July. July highs average around 83 degrees F and the inland lakes (Lobdell, Bennett, and nearby Silver Lake) are warm for swimming. Fall color peaks in mid-October when the maples around the area light up. Winter RVing is possible with a four-season rig, but most hosts list April through October. Pro tip: the weekend after Labor Day is the local insider's favorite, kids are back in school, campgrounds open up, and the weather is still gorgeous.
weather.gov/dtx/I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving in the Argentine area?
You're going to do great. First time renting an RV is easier than most people expect, especially around Argentine where the roads are flat, wide, and lightly trafficked outside of US-23 rush hour. Your host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, leveling, hookups, and tank dumping, and you can message them with questions anytime during your trip. If city driving feels intimidating, choose Delivery and skip it entirely. Stick to a smaller travel trailer or Class C for your first trip, take Silver Lake Road or Linden Road for practice, and you'll be confident in an hour. Most first-timers say the only regret is not booking sooner.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002558453-RentersWhat happens if something breaks down during my trip?
Relax, you're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance with a protection plan, so if you have a flat tire on M-59, a dead battery at Seven Lakes State Park, or a propane issue at Holly Recreation Area, help is one call away. Your host is also your direct lifeline for anything specific to the RV, like resetting the inverter or troubleshooting the awning, and most respond within minutes. For larger mechanical issues, RVezy's support team can coordinate next steps so your trip keeps moving. Save the roadside number in your phone before you leave Argentine and you'll have nothing to worry about.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Argentine RV rental to Canada or other states?
Yes, cross-border and interstate trips are popular from Argentine. Many hosts allow travel into Ontario, Canada (the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron is just over 75 miles east) and across the lower 48 states, you'll just want to confirm with the host and double-check that your chosen protection plan extends to Canada during booking. A great RV road trip from Argentine heads east through Ontario to Niagara Falls, or south through Ohio toward the Smoky Mountains. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals due to insurance coverage limits. Bring your passport for Canadian trips and let the host know your route at least a week before pickup.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of gas mileage should I budget for in Michigan?
Plan smart and fuel won't blow your budget. Class C motorhomes around Argentine typically get 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class B campervans get 16 to 20 MPG, and a truck pulling a travel trailer averages 10 to 13 MPG. Michigan gas prices generally track close to the national average, and you'll find competitive fuel pricing at the Meijer in Fenton or the Costco in Brighton, both within 20 minutes of Argentine. For a 4-day trip with 300 miles of driving and some generator use, budget roughly $150 to $225 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up before heading north of Flint, prices often rise the closer you get to cottage country.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Argentine?
Earlier is better, but you have options. Michigan state park campgrounds like Seven Lakes, Holly Recreation Area, and Brighton Recreation Area open reservations six months in advance through the Michigan DNR reservation system at MiDNRReservations.com, and Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day weekends are typically gone within hours of release. For private parks near Argentine, three to four months ahead is usually plenty. Last-minute? Try mid-week stays or look at Genesee County parks like Holloway Reservoir, which often have openings. Pro tip: keep checking the DNR reservation site for sold-out state park sites, cancellations happen often and you can snag a prime lakeside spot.
midnrreservations.com/What are driving conditions like around Argentine, MI?
Driving an RV around Argentine is genuinely easy. The terrain is gently rolling, the main routes (US-23, I-75, M-59, and Silver Lake Road) are wide and well-maintained, and there are no mountain passes or tight switchbacks to worry about. Watch for two seasonal things: deer crossings at dawn and dusk (especially on Linden Road and Lovejoy Road), and occasional winter snow squalls between December and March that can drop visibility fast. Summer thunderstorms can be intense but pass quickly. Avoid downtown Detroit and Ann Arbor with a large rig during weekday rush hours. Pro tip: the back route from Argentine to Holly via Grange Hall Road is scenic, low-traffic, and easier than the freeway for first-timers.
michigan.gov/mdotWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near Argentine?
Most campgrounds within 30 miles of Argentine offer the essentials and then some. Michigan state parks like Seven Lakes and Holly Recreation Area have electric hookups (typically 30 amp, with some 50 amp sites), modern restrooms with hot showers, sanitation dump stations, and potable water fill stations, though you usually won't find sewer hookups at the site (you'll dump on your way out). Many private parks in the area offer full hookups, Wi-Fi, and laundry. You can dump tanks at any Michigan state park where you're registered, or at the Genesee County Parks dump station at Holloway Reservoir. Pro tip: top off fresh water before pulling into any state park, fill stations get busy on Friday afternoons.
michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/campingWhat's included inside a typical RV rental in Argentine?
More than you'd expect. A typical motorhome rental in Argentine comes ready to live in: a full kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, sink, and basic cookware; a bathroom with toilet and shower; sleeping for 4 to 8 depending on size; air conditioning, furnace, and usually a generator or solar setup. Most rigs include a TV and many have outdoor speakers and awnings for evenings around the campfire. Wi-Fi varies, some hosts offer a hotspot add-on, and cell service around Argentine and the Lobdell Lake area is solid on all major carriers. Every passenger needs a seatbelt while moving, so check the seatbelt count on the listing if you're traveling with a larger group.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Argentine%2C%20MichiganWhat add-ons and extras can I get with my Argentine RV rental?
Lots of fun stuff, and the right add-ons can make your campervan rental Argentine trip feel like a luxury upgrade. Popular options include bed and bath linen packages ($30 to $75), camp chairs and outdoor tables ($15 to $30), kayaks or paddleboards ($25 to $50 per day, perfect for Lobdell Lake), bikes, generators, kitchen kits, and propane top-offs. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Argentine or a nearby town like Linden or Fenton, with delivery available for a fee. Mileage policies are listed clearly on each page, typically 100 to 150 free miles per night with unlimited options available. Add everything during booking so it's loaded and ready when you arrive.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Argentine%2C%20MichiganHow does payment and the security deposit work?
It's simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Argentine on RVezy, payment is processed through the platform, no cash or e-transfers to the host. You'll pay the rental total, taxes, and any add-ons at checkout, and a refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig) is held separately and not charged unless needed. As long as you return the RV in the agreed condition with the agreed fuel and tank levels, the hold is released after the trip. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos of the interior and exterior at pickup and dropoff, it's the easiest way to avoid any post-trip surprises.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat are the best road trip destinations from Argentine, MI?
You're in a prime launchpad spot. Top picks for an RV road trip from Argentine include Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (about 215 miles northwest, roughly 3.5 hours) for jaw-dropping Lake Michigan views; Mackinaw City and the Mackinac Bridge (around 240 miles, 4 hours) for ferry rides to Mackinac Island; Traverse City (about 200 miles) for wineries and cherry orchards; Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula (around 380 miles) for true wilderness; and Niagara Falls, Ontario (around 290 miles east) for an international add-on. Closer to home, the Irish Hills and Hell, Michigan are fun half-day trips. Pro tip: leave Argentine by 7 a.m. on Fridays to beat I-75 northbound cottage traffic.
