The camper is well taken care of, has everything you would need for a camping trip, and the host was really easy to communicate with and make time arrangements. We had it delivered and everything was very smooth and easy. We have two small boys who shared the oversized bottom bunk. This is a great RV for families, not too tight of quarters but still a very manageable towing size. I would definitely recommend this RV.

Lindsay S. - Jul 2025

Great RV and great communication! RV was fully stocked with everything we needed. We didn’t need to pack an additional kitchen items.

Eric was punctual for both drop-off and pick-up, and the RV was clean and exactly as pictured. His communication was clear and timely, and he took the time to thoroughly explain everything about the RV. He was friendly, polite, and I would absolutely recommend him

Yenifers C. - Sep 2025

Went above and beyond! Camper was spotless. He walked us through how to use everything. Everything was in working order. Very push button. Would rent again.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Beechwood, MI

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Beechwood, MI?

An RV rental in Beechwood often costs less than booking a lakeside hotel during peak season. On RVezy, travel trailers in the Beechwood area typically run $90 to $175 per night, Class C motorhomes go for $175 to $295 per night, and luxury Class A coaches sit at the upper end. Shoulder season (May and September) is the sweet spot for cheap RV rental Beechwood deals, with weekday pricing often 20 to 30 percent below summer Saturday rates. Pro tip: book a Sunday through Thursday stretch and you will dodge the Tulip Time and July 4th price spikes while still enjoying warm Lake Michigan sunsets.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Beechwood, Michigan?

Your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Beechwood, even for a 32-foot Class C motorhome. Michigan does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal RVs under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every rig on RVezy. RVezy approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and ID verification happens right inside the platform during checkout. Visiting from overseas for a Lake Michigan road trip? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto club before you fly, pair it with your home license, and you are set to hit US-31 north toward the lakeshore.

Is RV rental insurance included when I book in Beechwood?

Yes, every RVezy booking in Beechwood automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can pull out of the driveway with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose the coverage level that fits your comfort zone right inside the booking flow (your host does not pick this for you). It is designed specifically for peer-to-peer RV rentals and provides substantial financial protection. That means if a stray pinecone dings the awning at a Lake Michigan campground, you are not on the hook for the full repair bill.

What if I need to cancel my Beechwood RV rental?

Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy on every reservation (hosts do not), and refunds scale based on how far in advance you cancel. RVezy also has provisions for unexpected disruptions like severe Lake Michigan storms or natural disasters that genuinely prevent your trip. If life happens, just contact RVezy support through the Help Center and they will walk you through your options. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best Beechwood-area rigs, knowing you have a clear cancellation framework if plans shift.

Can I bring my dog on a Beechwood RV trip?

Absolutely, and finding a pet-friendly RV rental in Beechwood is easy: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see only rigs whose owners welcome four-legged co-pilots. Many West Michigan hosts even leave bowls and a lint roller in the rig. Once you are here, head to the designated dog beach at Holland State Park (note: dogs are not allowed on the main swimming beach there). Kollen Park in downtown Holland and the Outdoor Discovery Center trails are also leash-friendly. Pack a 6-foot leash, which Michigan state parks require, and you are ready for tail-wagging sunsets.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Beechwood?

Yes, RV delivery in Beechwood is one of the best perks for first-time renters. Many local hosts will drop the motorhome or trailer right at your site at Holland State Park, Drew's Country Camping, or a private driveway, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every switch. Filter listings by Delivery on RVezy to see hosts who offer it, and message them with your dates and destination for an exact quote (most charge a per-mile fee beyond a free delivery radius). Pro tip: delivery is gold for travel trailers, since you skip the towing learning curve entirely on your first Beechwood RV trip.

How many miles do I get with my RV rental in Beechwood?

Plenty for a classic Lake Michigan loop. Most Beechwood-area hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and you will find a healthy number of listings offering RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal if you are planning a longer road trip from Beechwood up the Sunset Coast. Extra miles typically run $0.30 to $0.50 each. To put it in perspective: Beechwood to Saugatuck is about 15 miles, Grand Rapids is 35 miles, Silver Lake Sand Dunes is around 60 miles, and Sleeping Bear Dunes is roughly 175 miles. Filter by Unlimited Mileage on RVezy if you are chasing lighthouses all the way to Mackinaw City.

Where are the best campgrounds near Beechwood for RV camping?

You are spoiled for choice. The headliner for RV camping near Beechwood is Holland State Park, just a few miles west, with the Lake Macatawa Campground and the Beach Campground (both offering electric sites and full-hookup options) right by Big Red Lighthouse. Drew's Country Camping in West Olive is a quieter, wooded family-run option a short drive north. Oak Grove Resort Campground in Holland sits on Lake Macatawa with full hookups and a pool. Allendale/West Grand Rapids KOA Holiday is great if you want easy access to both Holland beaches and Grand Rapids breweries. Book Holland State Park through the Michigan DNR reservation system well in advance for summer dates.

When is the best time of year to take an RV trip from Beechwood?

Late May through early October is prime time for a Beechwood RV trip, with daytime highs typically from 70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and Lake Michigan water warming up by mid-July. The sweet spot is early September: warm sunny days, cool sleeping nights in the 50s, fewer crowds at Holland State Park, and golden-hour sunsets over the dunes. May brings the Tulip Time Festival in nearby Holland (book your rig months ahead). October delivers vibrant fall color along the Lakeshore Trail. Winters are snowy and cold, often in the teens to 20s, so cold-weather RVing is possible with a winterized rig, but most renters target May through mid-October.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I know what I'm doing?

Yes, you will be more than fine, and your first time renting an RV in Beechwood is honestly one of the easiest places to learn. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup: how to extend the slides, run the awning, dump the tanks, switch from shore power to battery, and light the propane stove. You can message your host with questions before booking too. Then point the rig west to Holland State Park's Lake Macatawa Campground, where the loops are wide, paved, and forgiving for first-timers. Bonus: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every booking, so help is one tap away if anything feels off.

What happens if I break down during my Beechwood RV trip?

You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on US-31 or a dead battery at a Saugatuck dune lot is a phone call, not a trip-ender. Roadside can dispatch a tow, mobile mechanic, jump-start, fuel delivery, or lockout service anywhere in Michigan. Your host is also typically just a text away for quirks specific to their rig. Save the RVezy support contact the day before pickup, keep your reservation number handy, and pull off at the nearest safe exit (the Beechwood, Holland, and Zeeland stretch of I-196 has frequent service exits) if anything feels off.

Can I take my Beechwood RV rental into Canada or other states?

Cross-border and multi-state trips are doable from Beechwood and it is a popular ask. Many hosts allow travel across the Mackinac Bridge into the Upper Peninsula and onward into Canada via Sault Ste. Marie, with the right paperwork. Just message the host through the listing before booking to confirm Canada is approved, since insurance must extend across the border. State-to-state travel in the US is generally welcomed, opening up classic routes like an RV road trip from Beechwood down the Indiana Dunes shoreline or east toward Niagara Falls. Note: travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Beechwood RV trip?

Easier than you would think. Michigan gas prices generally track close to the national average. Class B campervans get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A coaches sit around 6 to 9 MPG. For a typical long-weekend loop from Beechwood to Saugatuck, Grand Haven, and Muskegon (roughly 120 miles round-trip), expect to spend $40 to $70 on fuel in a Class C at current Michigan prices. Pro tip: fill up in Zeeland or Hudsonville before heading north, where prices often beat lakefront stations. Check the EIA for current regional averages before you go.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Beechwood?

For Holland State Park, book the moment your dates open. Reservations open 6 months ahead on the Michigan DNR reservation system (MiDNRReservations.com or 1-800-447-2757), and full-hookup sites get snapped up within minutes for July weekends and Tulip Time in early May. For shoulder-season trips (late September, October), you can often book just 2 to 4 weeks out. Private parks like Oak Grove Resort or Drew's Country Camping have their own systems and tend to be slightly easier. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for 6 months minus 1 day before your target arrival, log in at 8 a.m. Eastern, and have your rig length ready.

What are driving conditions like around Beechwood for a larger RV?

Very RV-friendly. Beechwood sits right off I-196 with wide lanes, generous shoulders, and gentle terrain (this is Lake Michigan lakeshore country, not the mountains). Ottawa Beach Road, the main route from Beechwood to Holland State Park, is wide enough for any Class A. Watch for two things: the Blue Star Highway through downtown Saugatuck narrows in places, and summer beach traffic on Ottawa Beach Road can crawl on July weekends (early-morning arrivals beat the jam). Winter brings lake-effect snow squalls off Lake Michigan from November through March, so check MDOT's Mi Drive map before heading out, especially on US-31 north toward Grand Haven.

What hookups and amenities will I find at campgrounds near Beechwood?

Most campgrounds near Beechwood are well-equipped for RVs. Holland State Park's Lake Macatawa Campground offers 30 and 50-amp electric sites plus a sanitation station for dumping black and gray tanks. The Beach Campground includes full-hookup sites (water, electric, sewer) as well as paved electric sites. Drew's Country Camping and Oak Grove Resort both offer full hookups and potable water fills. You will also find a dump station and water fill near the Holland State Park entrance area, and Meijer on Felch Street sells everything from sewer hoses to fresh water hoses if you forget something. Showers are modern, clean, and included with your campsite fee.

What's inside a typical RV rental in Beechwood?

More creature comforts than you would expect. A typical motorhome rental Beechwood travelers book includes a queen bed, a dinette and sofa that convert into extra sleeping for the kids, a full kitchen with fridge, microwave, propane stove, and sink, a wet bath with shower and toilet, roof air conditioning, furnace, and seatbelts for everyone riding. Most rigs sleep 4 to 7. A campervan rental Beechwood option (Class B) is smaller and sportier, perfect for couples chasing sunsets at Tunnel Park. Many hosts also include linens, kitchenware, camp chairs, and outdoor mats. Generators, solar, TVs, and Wi-Fi hotspots vary by listing, so check the amenities tab or message the host for confirmation.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Lots of nice extras make life easier. Popular Beechwood-area add-ons include linen and bedding packages, kitchen kits, bike racks, kayak racks, generators, Wi-Fi hotspots, and outdoor camping bundles with chairs and a propane fire pit. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Beechwood, Holland, Zeeland, or Hudsonville, with delivery available from many hosts (often free within a set radius, then a per-mile fee out to Saugatuck or Grand Haven). Mileage policies vary, so check the listing's nightly mileage cap. Pro tip: ask about a generator add-on if you plan to boondock or stay at a non-electric site in the Manistee National Forest.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Simple and secure. You pay for your Beechwood RV rental directly through RVezy with a credit or debit card, never in cash to the host, so every dollar is documented. A refundable security deposit is held on your card a few days before pickup and released after the trip once the host confirms the rig came back in good shape. Deposit amounts vary by RV type and value. To avoid any deposit hiccups: do a quick walk-around video at pickup, dump the tanks before return, refuel to the level shown at pickup, and return the RV reasonably clean.

What are the best road trip destinations from Beechwood?

You are perfectly positioned. Top picks for an RV road trip from Beechwood: Saugatuck and Oval Beach (about 15 miles) for art galleries and dune rides; Grand Haven State Park (around 25 miles north) with its pier and musical fountain; Silver Lake Sand Dunes (about 60 miles) where you can drive the dunes in an off-road vehicle; Ludington State Park (around 110 miles) for the Big Sable Point Lighthouse; and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (about 175 miles, roughly 3 hours) for the legendary Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive.
