Millburg sits in Berrien County in southwest Michigan, a few miles inland from the Lake Michigan shoreline between the twin cities of St. Joseph and Benton Harbor. The area is part of Michigan's fruit belt, with orchards, u-pick farms, and vineyards spread across rolling terrain, and beach access points strung along the coast to the west. Interstate 94 and I-196 meet just south of the village, making the region easy to reach for RV renters driving from Chicago, South Bend, Kalamazoo, or Grand Rapids. Campground options within a short drive range from full-hookup private parks to a municipal beach campground. Coloma / St. Joseph KOA Holiday sits on a wooded 40-acre property and bills itself as the closest KOA to Lake Michigan in southwest Michigan, with paved roads, mature shade trees, and an in-ground heated pool. Eden Springs Park at the House of David offers year-round RV camping with 42 full-service sites and seasonal primitive tent sites on M-139, with pull-through gravel sites and 30-amp and 50-amp service. Closer to the water, Covert Park Beach and Campground has 62 sites on 50 acres of shaded woodland in Michigan's Critical Dunes, with developed sites in two loops offering water and 30-amp hookups plus an on-site dump station, and can accommodate most RVs up to 32 feet in length. Booking channels vary by property. KOA locations, including Coloma / St. Joseph KOA Holiday and Covert / South Haven KOA Holiday, take reservations through the KOA website and app, or by phone. Private parks such as Dune Lake Campground and Eden Springs Park at the House of David book direct through their own websites or by calling the office. Municipal parks use their own systems. Covert Park Beach and Campground takes bookings through its website starting January 1 for the coming season, with a 14-day maximum stay and a two-night minimum. For popular summer weekends near the lake, aim to reserve several months ahead, especially for holiday windows around Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Before booking, confirm site length, amp service, and whether hookups are shared between neighboring sites. Michigan restricts moving firewood into the state, so most parks require guests to buy local or kiln-dried bundles on site rather than bringing their own.
