Campgrounds near Mount Morris, Michigan
Mount Morris sits in Genesee County just north of Flint, within easy reach of a mix of family resorts, quieter wooded parks, and Michigan DNR state recreation areas. The I-75 corridor puts RV travelers within a short drive of Frankenmuth, Birch Run, and Otter Lake, which is where most of the closest private campgrounds cluster.
Options range widely in style. Pine Ridge RV Campground in Birch Run is a straightforward park with mostly pull-through, full-hookup sites close to the outlets and Frankenmuth. It has 200 sites, mostly pull-through with full hook up, sewer, water, and electric 20/30/50 amp, plus modern clean restroom facilities with private showers, a meeting building, campfires and a playground. Outdoor Adventures Lakeshore RV Resort near Davison is a large membership-oriented resort with heavy amenities. Frankenmuth Jellystone Park Camp Resort leans into family activities and pools, and Covenant Hills Camp and Retreat serves group and retreat travelers.
For a quieter lake stay, Genesee Otter Lake Campground offers wooded sites and a private, stocked lake to the northeast. Together these parks cover most trip styles, from a weekend near shops and restaurants to a longer stay with fishing and swim time on site.
Things to do near Mount Morris
Frankenmuth is the anchor day trip from Mount Morris, with Bavarian-themed shops, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, and the Bavarian Inn and Zehnder's restaurants. The Birch Run Premium Outlets sit a few minutes farther, and smaller stops like the Wilderness Trails Zoo and Alpine Mountain Golf work well for families.
On-site recreation varies by park. Genesee Otter Lake Campground offers 129 campsites with water and electric connections, 12 pull-through campsites, cottage rentals, nature trails and access to a privately owned and stocked 32-acre lake. The park also has a camp store, snack bar, boat, canoe, and paddleboat rentals, a sandy swimming beach, putt-putt golf, an arcade room, and planned activities. Frankenmuth Jellystone runs pools, a jump pad, mini golf, and themed activity weekends across the season. For state land, the Michigan DNR system adds hiking, paddling, and rustic camping options within an hour's drive.

The camping season in this part of Michigan is compact. Most private parks open in mid-spring and close in mid-fall. Pine Ridge RV Campground's camping season runs April through October. Genesee Otter Lake typically operates from May into the fall. A few properties run longer: Frankenmuth Jellystone advertises spring through late-season stays with weekend activities in shoulder months, and its indoor pool and hot tub run into early winter.
Summer is peak. Weekends around Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day book heavily and usually carry multi-night minimums. Frankenmuth's festival calendar, including Bavarian Festival in June and Oktoberfest in September, pulls extra demand into nearby campgrounds.
Spring and fall are cooler and quieter, with better site availability but a real chance of rain, frost, and limited pool or waterpark hours. Winter camping is possible only at the handful of parks that stay open, and RV travelers should plan for freezing temperatures, snow, and reduced services.

What to expect
Sites near Mount Morris skew toward full-hookup RV camping rather than rustic tenting. Pine Ridge has 200 sites, mostly pull-through with full hook up, sewer, water, and electric 20/30/50 amp, plus modern clean restroom facilities with private showers, a meeting building, campfires and a playground. On-site amenities beyond the basics are limited, with no pool or on-site cable at that park.
Resort-style parks pack in more. Outdoor Adventures Lakeshore is a large membership resort with pools, a water feature area, and a full activity calendar; expect crowds, golf-cart traffic, and busy weekends. Frankenmuth Jellystone runs a full activity schedule during the summer and weekend activities in the spring and fall.
Quieter, lake-oriented stays run through Genesee Otter Lake, where wooded sites, cabins, and a private lake set the tone. Cell coverage is generally solid across the region, but shaded, tree-heavy sites can affect satellite TV and rooftop solar.
