Campgrounds and RV parks near Mulliken, MI

Mulliken sits in Eaton County in south-central Michigan, roughly halfway between Lansing and Grand Rapids along the I-96 corridor. The village works well as a base for RV travelers because it puts several state and private campgrounds within a 45-minute drive, and the flat-to-rolling terrain of the lower Grand River watershed makes for easy towing. The closest significant public land is Ionia Recreation Area, located between Grand Rapids and Lansing, offering 4,500 acres of diverse landscape including rolling hills, open meadows, mature forests, and wetlands. Private options such as Lakeside Resort Campground and Alice Springs RV Park and Campground round out the choices for RV renters looking for full hookups and family amenities. Because Mulliken is inland and away from Great Lakes shoreline traffic, sites in this area are typically easier to book on short notice than parks along Lake Michigan, while still offering lake swimming, river paddling, and forest trails within a short drive.

State-run campgrounds in the Mulliken area use a single reservation system. Campsites, overnight lodging, harbor slips, and picnic shelters can be reserved through MiDNRReservations.com or by calling 1-800-447-2757. Michigan DNR uses a rolling six-month window, so a site for a July arrival becomes bookable the previous January, and popular weekends can sell out within minutes of opening. Vehicle entry to state land requires a separate pass. The Michigan Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into state parks and recreation areas, state boat launches, state forest campgrounds, and state trail parking lots, and it does not cover local, county, or metro parks. Private parks such as Lakeside Resort Campground, Alice Springs RV Park and Campground, Camp Thornapple Inc, and TTCM Bellevue Campground book directly through their own websites or by phone.
