Campgrounds near Olivet
Olivet sits in south-central Michigan between Battle Creek and Lansing, at the crossroads of I-69 and I-94. The area is rural farmland dotted with small chain lakes and hardwood woodlots, which puts a mix of private RV parks, membership resorts, and state park campgrounds within a short drive of town.
Private options in the immediate area include TTCM Bellevue Campground, a member-owned club park on 80 wooded acres, and Camp Turkeyville RV Resort, a full-hookup family resort on 14 acres in Marshall. Rockey's Campground, north of Albion on the Chain of Five Lakes, and Camp Thornapple Inc, near Nashville, add lakeside and river settings for RVs and tent trailers. Lighthouse Village Membership RV Resort in Homer rounds out the larger membership properties in the region.
Fort Custer Recreation Area, west of Battle Creek, is the closest large modern state campground and is the usual fallback when private parks fill on holiday weekends.
Things to do near Olivet
The Chain of Five Lakes north of Albion is the main draw for on-water time. Rockey's Campground sits on Silvers Lake and offers boat and canoe rentals, and its sandy beach and roughly 1,000 feet of lake frontage connect to all five lakes, making it a straightforward base for fishing and swimming with kids.
Marshall's National Historic Landmark District is a short drive south and pairs well with a stop at Camp Turkeyville's dinner theatre, restaurant, and ice cream parlour. Families with younger children often add Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, the Gilmore Car Museum near Hickory Corners, and FireKeepers Casino.
Fort Custer Recreation Area has swimming beaches, mountain-bike trails, and paddling on Eagle and Whitford Lakes for day-use side trips.

TTCM Bellevue operates from the second weekend in May to the first weekend in October, and Camp Turkeyville is open for nightly camping from April 1 to October 31, with a block of winter full-hookup sites kept online for cold-weather stays.
July and August are peak season. Weekends fill first, especially around the Fourth of July, Labor Day, and any Marshall or Battle Creek festival dates. Late May through late June and September tend to be quieter, cooler, and easier to book on short notice.
Winter camping options are limited. Most private parks and all state park modern loops in the immediate area are drained and closed from November through April, and daytime highs regularly stay near or below freezing.

Neil was great with communication on questions I had about the camper. They were on time for delivery and came out again after the trailer had settled and helped us. Great folks to rent from. We will definitely use them again!

Glad we got another chance this year to take Darlene out for a camping weekend. Same great experience as last year!

We had a great weekend! Pickup and drop off were easy to coordinate and the unit was so light to tow with our Subaru outback. The camper came well equipped and was perfect for off-grid camping.

How to book
Private parks in the area take reservations directly. Camp Turkeyville, Rockey's, and Camp Thornapple all book by phone or through their websites, and holiday weekends often sell out months ahead. TTCM Bellevue is a member-owned Travel Trailer Club of the Midwest campground and does not assign specific sites in advance, so non-members should call before arrival to confirm availability. Lighthouse Village operates as a membership RV resort, so day-of access depends on the membership program in use.
For nearby state park campgrounds such as Fort Custer Recreation Area, reservations run through the Michigan DNR system at midnrreservations.com on a rolling six-month window. Popular summer weekends open for booking six months out to the day and can go quickly. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry.
What to expect
Sites in this area lean toward level, grassy or gravel pads under mature hardwoods, with fire rings and picnic tables standard. Full hookups with 30/50-amp service are common at the private resorts. Camp Turkeyville offers back-in and pull-through sites with cement patios, water, sewer, and 20/30/50-amp electric, plus two pools, a general store, laundry, and Wi-Fi. TTCM Bellevue has water and electric sites, a dump station, playground, and community fire pits, but no shower building.
Cell coverage is generally solid on Verizon and AT&T across the region. Mosquitoes and deer flies are active from June through August, especially near the chain lakes and wooded loops, so screens and repellent are worth packing.
Roads in and around the campgrounds are paved and easy for big rigs, and I-69 and I-94 both have exits within a short drive.
