How to book campgrounds near Otisville
Private campgrounds around Otisville handle their own reservations rather than routing through a state or federal system, so plans start on each operator's website or phone line. Deposit rules, minimum-stay policies, and cancellation windows vary by property, so confirm terms before you commit.
Holiday weekends and prime waterfront sites go first. Many parks also reserve premium sites for returning seasonal campers, which shrinks the transient pool during peak weeks. Book Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends at least two months out.
Outdoor Adventures Lake Shore Resort is a membership-based campground, requiring a membership to stay, though the operator offers a free introductory stay of three days and two nights in the RV park for guests who have not visited before. Contact the resort directly to confirm access before arrival.
What to expect on arrival
Hookups are generally straightforward. Genesee Otter Lake Campground offers electric and water hookups, pull-through and lakefront sites, restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, and a dump station. At Lakeshore RV Resort, amenities include full hookups, 30/50-amp service, and both back-in and pull-through sites that accommodate larger rigs.
Rules to plan around: Michigan campgrounds commonly restrict bringing in outside firewood to limit pest spread, and most sell bundles on site. Pets are usually welcome with fees or breed restrictions, and Lake Shore Resort welcomes pets with breed restrictions in place.
Expect a busy family atmosphere at the larger resorts, with kids on bikes, pool traffic, and organized weekend events. Quieter, more wooded stays are the norm at the smaller lake campgrounds closer to the village.
