Campgrounds and RV parks near Parma, MI

Parma sits in Jackson County in south-central Michigan, roughly midway between Jackson and Battle Creek along the I-94 corridor. The surrounding area is a mix of farmland, small inland lakes, and mixed hardwood forest, with the Irish Hills and Waterloo Recreation Area within an easy drive. RV travelers use Parma as a base for lake camping, fishing, and access to Michigan International Speedway. Private, family-run campgrounds dominate the local supply. Rockey's Campground sits on Silvers Lake as part of the Chain of Five Lakes near Albion, and Greenwood Acres Family Campground on Goose Lake is Jackson County's largest RV park with more than 1,100 sites on 300 acres. Somerset Beach Campground occupies a large parcel in the Irish Hills to the southeast. Smaller options such as Hideaway RV Park and Oaks Campgrounds round out the choices, offering quieter, less activity-heavy stays. Most nearby parks focus on hookup sites for RVs, sandy swim beaches, and family activity programming rather than backcountry camping.

Private campgrounds around Parma each run their own reservation systems. Somerset Beach Campground accepts online bookings through its operator's website, while Rockey's takes reservations directly by phone and email once its office opens in February. Greenwood Acres, Hideaway RV Park, and Oaks Campgrounds accept bookings through their own sites and offices, and Greenwood Acres requires payment at the time of booking. For state-park sites at Waterloo Recreation Area and other Michigan DNR properties, campsites and overnight lodging can be reserved up to six months to the date of arrival at MiDNRReservations.com or by calling 1-800-447-2757. A non-refundable reservation fee applies, and a Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry to any state park or recreation area.
