Campgrounds and RV parks near Shorewood-Tower Hills-Harbert, MI

Beach days anchor most trips. Warren Dunes State Park has three miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, six miles of hiking trails, and a rugged dune formation rising 260 feet above the lake, with hang gliding allowed by permit. Weko Beach hosts a live-bugle Taps tradition at sunset every night from Memorial Day to Labor Day, plus free summer concerts. Inland activities revolve around water and history. Fullers Resort sits on 80-acre spring-fed Clear Lake with 400 feet of sandy beachfront and an old-world country store pavilion. Bear Cave RV Campground sits along the St. Joseph River corridor with fishing and river access. Eden Springs Park runs miniature train rides on summer weekends and seasonal holiday events. Wineries, orchards, and Fernwood Botanical Garden round out day trips.

The core RV season runs mid-spring through late fall. Weko Beach Campground operates from May through mid-October, and Fullers Resort keeps its campsites and beach open from April 15 through November 1. Warren Dunes State Park stays open year-round, though shoulder-season services and staffing drop off after Labor Day. Summer is peak. Sites at Warren Dunes and Weko fill quickly for weekends and holidays, and it is not uncommon for sites to book up as soon as they become available. Lake Michigan water stays cold through June and warms into August, which is also among the wettest months on average. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in July and August, and rip currents on the big lake are a real risk on windy days. Fall brings cooler temperatures, apple and grape harvest events, and lighter crowds. Winter camping is limited: heavy lake-effect snow, hard freezes, and closed water systems shut down most private parks, and most municipal and private campgrounds in the area close by late October or early November.

Terrain is sandy and often uneven. Sites at Weko Beach have soft, sandy soil, and most lack level ground, so bringing levelers is essential. The City of Bridgman maintains sites across two RV loops and one primitive area, with electric and water hookups available for RVs up to 30 feet. Warren Dunes has a mix of shaded and open sites, with some sites close enough to hear I-94 highway noise. Amenities vary widely. Warren Dunes has 185 modern campsites with electric hookups, 24 rustic campsites, and three rustic mini-cabins. Fullers offers full hookup sites with 30- and 50-amp service, water, and sewer, plus a dump station, laundry, and a playground. Expect strong family demand on summer weekends, sandy conditions throughout, and short drives between the lakeshore, the St. Joseph River, and the wine trail. Dogs are welcome on a leash in Warren Dunes' campgrounds and on a designated stretch of beach north of the swim area.
