Campgrounds and RV parks near Woodland Beach, MI

Woodland Beach is a small lakefront community on the western shore of Lake Erie in Monroe County, Michigan, located within Frenchtown Charter Township about four miles northeast of the city of Monroe. The area sits in southeast Michigan roughly an hour south of Detroit and just north of the Ohio border, making it an accessible RV destination from both Michigan and northern Ohio. The region's headline campground is William C. Sterling State Park, the only Michigan state park on Lake Erie, situated along one mile of sandy shoreline with a modern campground, full-amenity cottages, a boating access site, and trails. Additional RV options in and around Monroe include River Raisin Marina and Campground, Camp Lord Willing Management RV Park and Campground, and Harbortown RV Resort. Just across the state line, Maumee Bay State Park adds another large lakefront campground within short driving range. Together these parks give RV travelers a mix of state-run and private options, from full-hookup resort sites with family amenities to more traditional state park loops focused on beach, marsh, and fishing access.

Sterling State Park uses the Michigan DNR reservation system. Reservations for campsites, overnight lodging, harbors, and picnic shelters can be made at MiDNRReservations.com or by calling 1-800-44-PARKS (1-800-447-2757). Michigan state park bookings typically open a rolling six months ahead, and prime summer weekend sites go quickly. Across the state line, Maumee Bay State Park reservations may be made up to six months in advance online at reserveohio.com or by calling (866) 644-6727. Private parks are booked directly. Harbortown RV Resort, Camp Lord Willing Management RV Park and Campground, and River Raisin Marina and Campground each handle their own reservations by phone or through their websites, and holiday weekends often sell out weeks in advance.
