RVers who want easier highway access closer to town can look at Benchmark RV Park or Hill Country Community, both suited to longer stays with less shaded, more level pull-through style sites than the lakefront parks.

Corps of Engineers sites at Okatibbee Lake, including Twiltley Branch, are booked through Recreation.gov. Campground reservations typically open several months in advance, so for peak season visits it is best to book as early as possible. Weekends from April through October see the heaviest demand, and cancellations do surface close to arrival for travelers with flexible dates. Pat Harrison Waterway District parks, including Dunns Falls Water Park Pat Harrison Waterway District, take campsite reservations directly by phone at the individual park rather than through Recreation.gov. Cabin bookings go through the district office. Private options such as Benchmark RV Park and Hill Country Community are booked directly with the operator. Bring confirmation, a valid ID, and a Mississippi fishing license if planning to fish. Check-in times, gate hours, and pet rules vary by park, so confirm details before arrival.
