Hattiesburg is roughly 36 miles east on US 98, and McComb about 40 miles west.

Within an easy drive, Hidden Springs RV Resort and Paradise Ranch RV Resort occupy wooded acreage along the Bogue Chitto near Tylertown, Little Black Creek Campground and Park surrounds a 640-acre lake near Lumberton, and Hattiesburg/Okatoma KOA Holiday adds a full-service option closer to Hattiesburg.
Things to do around Foxworth
Water recreation drives most trips. The Bogue Chitto and Pearl Rivers support canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and fishing for bass, bream, crappie, and catfish, with Paradise Ranch RV Resort offering Bogue Chitto access and Hidden Springs RV Resort located along the same river. Little Black Creek Campground and Park adds a 640-acre lake with swimming beaches, a nature trail, and disc golf.
Off the water, Red Bluff, often called the Grand Canyon of Mississippi, sits north of Foxworth along Highway 587 and features eroded clay cliffs above the Pearl River viewable from an informal pull-off along the road. There is no visitor center.
Columbia, about three miles away across the Pearl River bridge, has local restaurants, historic downtown blocks, and grocery restocks. The Longleaf Trace, a paved rail-trail out of Hattiesburg running roughly 41 miles to Prentiss, is within day-trip range for cycling.

South Mississippi has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters, so RV camping is viable year-round with the right preparation. Spring and fall deliver the most comfortable outdoor conditions and are the local sweet spots for river trips, disc golf, and hikes at Red Bluff.
Summer is hot and humid, with afternoon highs commonly in the low 90s and frequent thunderstorms. Shaded, wooded sites at Hidden Springs RV Resort, Paradise Ranch RV Resort, and Little Black Creek Campground and Park help, and on-site pools become the main draw. Weekends and holidays fill quickly at family-focused parks, so booking well in advance is standard.
Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September. Heavy rain can flood low-lying sites and disrupt riverside stays. Winter is generally mild but the wettest stretch of the year, with January typically the wettest month; hard freezes are brief.
Booking a campground near Foxworth
Private RV parks in the area, including Mimosa Landing Campground, Hidden Springs RV Resort, Paradise Ranch RV Resort, and Little Black Creek Campground and Park, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Hattiesburg/Okatoma KOA Holiday books through the KOA reservation system, where KOA Rewards members receive a discount at checkout.
Summer weekends, spring break, and holidays are the tightest windows, particularly at family-oriented resorts with pools and cabins. Reserve cabins and riverside sites several weeks to a few months out, and lock in longer holiday stays even earlier.
Cancellation terms vary by park. Little Black Creek Campground and Park, for example, requires at least seven days advance notice, charges a small per-site cancellation fee, and issues a voucher for the remaining balance valid six months from cancellation. Confirm each property's policy before booking.
What to expect on the ground
Sites in the area sit in pine forest or mixed hardwoods, with a mix of gravel and grass pads. Full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service are standard at the larger private parks, and big-rig access is typical, though some gravel pads soften after heavy rain. Cell coverage is workable but not universal, and Wi-Fi at rural parks can be limited or concentrated near clubhouses rather than at individual sites.
Expect a family, laid-back atmosphere. Paradise Ranch RV Resort spreads across 105 acres with free-roaming red stag deer and potbelly pigs plus a large lagoon-style pool, and golf-cart rentals are common on the bigger properties.
Foxworth itself has limited services, so restock groceries, fuel, and propane in Columbia or Hattiesburg before heading to a remote site.
