Campgrounds and RV parks near Pearlington, MS

Pearlington sits at the far southwestern corner of Mississippi, on the Pearl River near the Louisiana state line and just north of the Gulf of Mexico. The village itself is small and rural, but it functions as a practical base for RV travelers exploring the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Hancock County beaches, and nearby New Orleans, roughly an hour to the west. Camping options in the area range from small private parks to a full-service state park. Salt Bayou Kampground and Pine Crest RV Park serve travelers who want quiet, no-frills sites close to Pearlington and Interstate 10. Bay Hide Away RV Park And Campground and Silver Slipper Casino RV Park sit a short drive east, closer to Bay St. Louis and Waveland, and cater to RVers who want lake or beach access and casino amenities. Buccaneer State Park in Waveland sits on the Gulf of Mexico and was entirely rebuilt after all its buildings were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It is the largest and best-known campground in the area, offering full-hookup sites, a waterpark, and beach access across the highway. Together these campgrounds cover most trip styles, from an overnight stopover to a longer Gulf Coast stay.

Buccaneer State Park is run by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and takes reservations through the MDWFP online reservation portal or by phone with the park office. The campground has 206 premium single-family campsites, all with full hookups (water, electric and sewer), plus an additional 70 sites with water and electric available on a first-come, first-served basis, and 25 primitive first-come, first-served sites at the back of Royal Cay camp area. Private parks in the area, including Salt Bayou Kampground, Pine Crest RV Park, Bay Hide Away RV Park And Campground, and Silver Slipper Casino RV Park, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. For winter snowbird stays and any weekend near a Gulf Coast festival, book several weeks to several months out.
