Campgrounds and RV parks near Stonewall, MS

Stonewall sits in Clarke County in east-central Mississippi, roughly 20 miles south of Meridian along Highway 45. The area is dominated by rolling pine woodlands and the Chunky and Chickasawhay river drainages, which shape most of the region's public camping options. RV travelers can reach several developed campgrounds within a 30 to 45 minute drive. The closest full-service state facility is Clarkco State Park, an 815-acre park just south of Meridian near the Mississippi-Alabama line that has operated as a Mississippi recreation area since 1938. To the south and east, Dunns Falls Water Park and Chunky River Recreation sit along the Chunky River corridor, with Dunns Falls managed by the Pat Harrison Waterway District, a state agency that oversees water parks across the Pascagoula River Basin. Private options fill in around Meridian. Benchmark RV Park offers concrete pull-through sites with full hookups just off Highway 45, and Hill Country Community provides a small motorhome park for travelers who want a simpler overnight stop between longer legs of a trip.

Clarkco State Park uses the Mississippi State Parks reservation system through Reserve America. Sites can be booked up to 24 months in advance, and reservations must be made at least two days before arrival. Camping check-in is 4 PM and check-out is 2 PM local time, with an eight-person maximum per site and a minimum booking age of 21. Pat Harrison Waterway District parks, including Dunns Falls Water Park, are booked directly through the district. Stays of two to four nights can be reserved up to three months out, and stays of five or more nights up to one year in advance with a three-night deposit due within 14 days. Pets are not permitted at PHWD cabins. Private parks such as Benchmark RV Park and Hill Country Community take reservations by phone. Calling a day or two ahead is usually sufficient outside of holiday weekends.
