Campgrounds and RV parks near Tchula, MS

Tchula sits in Holmes County in the Mississippi Delta region, roughly halfway between Jackson and Greenwood along U.S. Highway 49E. The town is small and rural, so most RV travelers use it as a base for exploring the Delta flatlands, nearby state parks, and the Natchez Trace Parkway corridor to the east. Campground options within short driving range include Delta Mobile Home and RV Park for full-hookup basics, Holmes County State Park for lakeside sites inside a wooded state park, and Vaiden Campground, LLC. off Interstate 55 for pull-through overnight stays. Movietown RV Park and Mini Storage and Mississippi Petrified Forest Campground extend the options south toward the Jackson metro. Expect flat terrain, cotton and soybean fields, hardwood bottomlands, and slow-moving bayous. Mississippi's climate is characterized by relatively mild winters, hot summers, and year-round precipitation, which shapes both site conditions and seasonal demand across the region.

Holmes County State Park sites are reserved through the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, which operates the state park system. Bookings can be made online or by phone, typically up to a year in advance, and holiday weekends fill first. Private parks including Delta Mobile Home and RV Park, Vaiden Campground, LLC., and Movietown RV Park and Mini Storage are booked directly with the operator by phone. Mississippi Petrified Forest Campground takes reservations through its park office. For spring and fall weekends, reserve four to eight weeks out. Weekday and winter stays usually have same-week availability. Confirm rig-length limits and hookup type when booking, as older Delta parks sometimes have tight turns and mixed amp service.
