Campgrounds near White Oak, Mississippi
White Oak sits in Tunica County in the northwest corner of Mississippi, on the flat Delta farmland between the Mississippi River and Memphis. The area is best known for the cluster of casino resorts at Tunica Resorts (Robinsonville), roughly 50 minutes south of Memphis by car, and most RV options in the immediate area are casino-run parks rather than public campgrounds.
On the Mississippi side, Hollywood Casino Hotel and RV Park offers 123 spaces with electricity, water, cable TV, sanitary hookups, telephones and propane at every spot, plus shower and laundry facilities. The Isle Of Capri Casino RV Park is listed on the Mississippi side of the river near Lula, though the adjacent casino has been closed for years, so travelers should confirm current operations before booking. Sams Town Gambling Hall RV Park is located in the same resort cluster, but the Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in Tunica permanently closed on November 9, 2025, so travelers should verify status before arrival.
For a natural-setting alternative, travelers cross the river into eastern Arkansas to reach Storm Creek Lake Recreational Area and Lone Pine - Mississippi River State Park, both within the St. Francis National Forest and about an hour southwest of White Oak.
Things to do near White Oak
The Tunica Resorts corridor is built around casino gaming, live entertainment, and Delta-style dining, with Hollywood Casino Tunica offering 17 table games, over 1,000 slots and video poker machines, plus a sportsbook. Golf, riverboat museums, and the Tunica RiverPark on the Mississippi River are within a short drive.
Memphis is about an hour north and adds Beale Street, Graceland, the National Civil Rights Museum, and barbecue. To the south, Clarksdale anchors the Mississippi Blues Trail.
Across the river, the 425-acre Storm Creek Lake sits within the south end of the St. Francis National Forest, with the Great River Road and the Crowley's Ridge Parkway national scenic byways passing nearby, with fishing, paddling, and a swim beach on Storm Creek Lake.

The Delta has a humid subtropical climate. Summers are long, hot, and muggy; winters are short, wet, and windy; and it is partly cloudy year round. Casino-run RV parks in Tunica Resorts operate year-round, so shoulder seasons in spring and fall generally offer the most comfortable RV weather.
Spring can bring severe thunderstorms and tornado risk to the Mid-South, and high water on the Mississippi River sometimes affects river-adjacent facilities and boat ramps. Summer heat and humidity are intense, and biting insects are common at the lake campgrounds across the river.
On the Arkansas side, Storm Creek Lake offers 14 campsites open only from April through Labor Day weekend, with the recreation area managed as part of Mississippi River State Park. Fall brings cooler nights, lower humidity, and good conditions for fishing and hiking on Crowley's Ridge.
How to book
For the casino RV parks in Tunica Resorts, reservations are made directly with each property. Hollywood Casino Tunica takes RV bookings by phone at 1-662-357-7700, with check-in at the hotel front desk on arrival. Because the adjacent casinos at Isle Of Capri and Sams Town have closed, travelers considering those RV parks should call ahead to confirm current operations before planning a stay.
Across the river in Arkansas, Storm Creek Lake Recreational Area and Lone Pine - Mississippi River State Park are managed by Mississippi River State Park through Arkansas State Parks. Mississippi River State Park takes reservations for the Storm Creek Lake Campground through the Arkansas State Parks reservation system online or by phone.
Weekends around holidays and major Memphis events fill first. Book earlier for spring and fall stays.
What to expect
The casino RV parks are compact, paved, and geared to overnight and short stays rather than extended recreation. Sites at Hollywood feature level concrete pads with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections, with both pull-through and back-in options, and some covered picnic tables scattered among the sites. Expect flat terrain, limited shade, and easy walking or shuttle access to casino amenities, restaurants, and pools.
The Arkansas state park campgrounds are a different experience: quieter, wooded, and lake-oriented. Storm Creek Lake Campground includes five camper cabins, 11 campsites with electricity, water, and sewer, three walk-in tent campsites with electricity and group water, and a family-style bathhouse. Cell coverage is generally strong near Tunica and thinner in the forest.
Mosquitoes and ticks are active from late spring through early fall; bring repellent.
