Campgrounds and RV parks near Jonesburg, MO

At Graham Cave State Park, hiking is the main draw, with several trails winding through the park's forests and glades. Visitors can walk up to the mouth of Graham Cave, where interpretive signs point out interesting discoveries about the ancient Dalton and Archaic period inhabitants. Cuivre River State Park layers on water recreation and longer trails. Both primitive and modern campsites are available, and Lake Lincoln offers swimming, boating and fishing. The park's wild and natural areas provide hiking, backpacking, photography and wildlife observation activities. There is also an equestrian trail with a campground for overnight stays. At Lost Valley Lake Resort, families get indoor and outdoor amenities: two indoor pools, hot tubs, and a sauna for year-round swimming, plus an outdoor pool and two lake swimming beaches during warmer months. Full hookups include electric, water, and sewer connections, with additional amenities like WiFi and a dump station. Campers can rent paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, and fishing boats for water activities. The facility includes indoor mini golf, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, arcade games, and horseback riding.

Central Missouri runs a full four-season calendar. The region has a humid continental climate, marked by a very large seasonal temperature contrast. Summers are hot and fairly wet, with precipitation spread relatively evenly through the year. Winters are cold and bring regular snowfall, with winter moisture often arriving as snow. Spring and fall are the sweet spots for RV camping, with milder daytime temperatures and easier hiking conditions. Spring brings wildflowers and green-up, along with occasional heavy rain. Insect pressure climbs quickly once temperatures warm, so bug spray is essential from late spring through early fall. Fall delivers strong color in the wooded state parks and cooler nights that make campfires welcome. State-park operations shift with the season. At Graham Cave, showers and running water are available April 1 through October 31, and off-season from November through March, all sites are first-come, first-serve and campers must bring potable water. Cuivre River follows a similar pattern, with showerhouses with flush toilets, accessible restrooms, and hot showers available from April 15 through October 31, while vault toilets remain accessible year-round.

Graham Cave is a small, wooded park with quick highway access from I-70. The campground features both basic and electric campsites, each equipped with a parking pad, picnic table, grill, and lantern post. Modern restrooms with hot showers and laundry facilities operate from April through October, while vault toilets remain available year-round. Rig fit matters. Pads range from 33 to 62 feet, so most RVs and motorhomes will fit if a site is reserved ahead of time. RVers may need leveling blocks to handle unlevel camping pads. Cuivre River is significantly larger and better suited to longer stays with mixed group needs. Expect heavy tree cover, gravel or paved pads, and limited cell service at the state parks. Insect repellent, potable water for off-season stays, and headlamps for after-dark trail walks are worth packing.
