Campgrounds and RV parks near Moscow Mills, MO

Moscow Mills sits in Lincoln County in eastern Missouri, along US-61 roughly 45 minutes to an hour northwest of St. Louis. The town works well as a base for RV travelers because it puts several state parks and private RV parks within a short drive, while keeping grocery, fuel, and dump-station access close at hand. The closest major public camping is at Cuivre River State Park, a public recreation area covering more than 6,400 acres northeast of the city of Troy in the Lincoln Hills region of northeastern Missouri. The park lends a wilder, Ozarkian flavor to the otherwise predominantly agricultural landscape of northern Missouri, and although not far from St. Louis, it is regarded as a nature lover's paradise. Private options in the area include Lakeview RV Estates and Beyond the Trail RV Park. For a longer loop, Pere Marquette State Park sits across the Mississippi in Illinois, and Babler State Park lies southwest of St. Louis, giving families two more full-service park options within about an hour of Moscow Mills.

Missouri State Parks use a single centralized reservation system. Reservations can be made online through the state parks reservation website or by calling toll free 877-ICampMO (877-422-6766). Campers can now reserve a Missouri State Parks campsite up to 12 months in advance, expanded from the previous six-month window, with the daily release at 7 a.m. Central Time. Cuivre River State Park offers reservable basic, electric, and sewer/electric/water campsites, an equestrian campground, three organized group camps, and a special-use camping area. Reservable sites may be available on a walk-up basis if not already booked. Illinois state parks, including Pere Marquette, use the separate ExploreMoreIL system with a 180-day (six-month) window, so book those trips through the Illinois portal. Private parks such as Lakeview RV Estates and Beyond the Trail RV Park take bookings directly through their own offices.
