Campgrounds and RV parks near Gallatin Gateway, MT

The Gallatin River is a blue-ribbon trout stream, drawing fly anglers, whitewater rafters, and float trips through the canyon. Trailheads along U.S. 191 access hikes into the Custer Gallatin National Forest and the Lee Metcalf Wilderness, and Big Sky Resort is about forty minutes south for lift-served hiking, mountain biking, and scenic gondola rides. Bozeman adds indoor options for family trips: the Museum of the Rockies, downtown Main Street, and Bozeman Hot Springs are all within a short drive. Yellowstone's West Entrance at West Yellowstone is roughly ninety minutes south, making Gallatin Gateway a workable base for day trips into the park's northwestern loop.

Peak season runs from mid-June through August, when Gallatin Canyon roads are clear, forest service campgrounds are fully open, and Yellowstone is at its busiest.
