Campgrounds and RV parks near South Lockport, NY

South Lockport sits in Niagara County, about 20 miles northeast of Buffalo and roughly 30 minutes east of Niagara Falls. The area is flat farmland cut by the Erie Canal, with Lake Ontario shoreline about 15 miles to the north. RV travelers use it as a quieter base for visiting the falls, the canal locks in downtown Lockport, and the Lake Ontario shoreline with its wineries and orchards. Private campgrounds close to the city handle most RV traffic. Niagara County Camping Resort, Niagara's Lazy Lakes Camping Resort, AA Royal Motel and Campground, and Niagara Woodland Campground all sit within a short drive, and Niagara Hartland RV Resort is a few miles east in Gasport. Sites range from basic pull-throughs to full-hookup lots with cabins and long-term seasonal spots mixed in. For state-park camping, the two closest options are Four Mile Creek State Park on Lake Ontario near Youngstown and Golden Hill State Park at Barker, both reserved through the New York State Parks system on ReserveAmerica. Both parks add hiking, swimming, and lake access that private lots in South Lockport itself do not offer.

Holds around Independence Day, Labor Day, and Niagara Falls event weekends go fast. Book summer holiday weekends as soon as the nine-month window opens for state parks, and at least four to eight weeks ahead for private RV resorts.
