Campgrounds and RV parks near Tonawanda Town, NY

Tonawanda Town sits in Erie County just north of Buffalo and directly across the Niagara River from Grand Island, putting RV travelers within a short drive of both the Buffalo metro and Niagara Falls. The area works well as a home base for families who want city access, waterfront parks, and the falls without paying downtown lodging rates. Most campgrounds serving the region cluster on Grand Island and along the corridor toward Niagara Falls. Options in the immediate area include AA Royal Motel and Campground, Niagara Falls / Grand Island KOA Holiday, Cinderella Motel and Campsite, Niagara Falls Campground and Lodging, and Branches of Niagara Campground and Resort. These range from simple motel-plus-campsite setups to full resort properties with pools, cabins, and activity programs. Niagara Falls State Park itself does not offer campsites, so RV travelers rely on private campgrounds nearby and use the park as a day-trip destination.

Because Niagara Falls State Park has no campground of its own, bookings in this area go through private operators rather than a single state reservation system. Each campground runs its own website or phone line. Niagara Falls Campground and Lodging takes reservations directly, while Niagara Falls / Grand Island KOA Holiday books through the KOA network. For summer weekends and any stay overlapping Independence Day or Labor Day, reserve as early as the campground will allow, often three to six months out. Pull-through and full-hookup sites go first. If plans include a state-park campground elsewhere in the region, such as Four Mile Creek near Youngstown, those sites are booked on ReserveAmerica up to nine months in advance.
