Campgrounds and RV parks near Bogue, NC

Bogue sits on the mainland side of Bogue Sound in Carteret County, minutes from the Emerald Isle bridge and the barrier-island beaches of the Crystal Coast. The town is small, but it is well placed for RV travellers: private full-hookup resorts line the sound and the White Oak River corridor, and the 167,687-acre Croatan National Forest spans across Craven, Carteret and Jones Counties just to the north and west. Most travellers base out of full-service parks near the water. Goose Creek RV and Camping Resort and Waterway RV Resort sit close to the sound, while Holiday Trav-L-Park Resort For Campers and White Oak Shores Camping and RV Resort put beaches, boat ramps and the White Oak River within a short drive. Whispering Pines RV Park and Campground offers a quieter inland option for travellers who want a home base without beachfront crowds. The Croatan is one of four national forests in North Carolina and the only true coastal forest in the East, with pine forests, saltwater estuaries, bogs and raised swamps called pocosins. That mix of sound, forest and open Atlantic beach is what most trips here are built around.
