Campgrounds near Faith, North Carolina
Faith is a small town in eastern Rowan County, a few miles south of Salisbury in the North Carolina Piedmont. It sits within easy reach of High Rock Lake, one of the largest reservoirs in the state, and Dan Nicholas Park, a 425-acre county park with its own campground. RV renters use Faith as a quiet base for lake days, wildlife stops, and short drives to Salisbury, Lexington, and Charlotte.
Options close to town lean toward waterfront and family-run parks. Dan Nicholas Park offers wooded, county-run sites next to a 10-acre fishing lake. Tamarac Marina and Campground and High Rock Lake Marina and Campground sit directly on High Rock Lake with slips, ramps, and hookups. Cross Winds Family Campground and Carolina Rose Campground round out the nearby private options.
Most parks are open year-round, with a mix of RV sites, tent areas, and rental cabins. Interstate 85 runs just west of Faith, making arrivals from Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh straightforward for larger rigs.
Things to do near Faith
High Rock Lake is the main draw. The 15,180-acre Yadkin River reservoir has roughly 360 miles of shoreline and is known nationally for bass fishing, with free public ramps at Buddle Creek, Bringle Ferry, Flat Swamp, and York Hill. Swimming is allowed in designated areas such as Pebble Beach and Buddle Creek. Tamarac Marina and Campground rents pontoons and has a lakeside restaurant, the After Dock, with live entertainment on weekends.
Dan Nicholas Park adds low-key, family-friendly options: a carousel, gem mine, mini golf, paddle boats on Lake Murtis, a splash pad, and Rowan Wildlife Adventures, a small nature center and animal habitat area.
Off the water, downtown Salisbury has historic districts, and the North Carolina Transportation Museum sits on a former rail yard in nearby Spencer. The Faith Fourth of July Celebration draws large crowds each summer.

Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel. April, May, September, and October bring mild days, cooler nights, and moderate rainfall, and bass fishing is strong in spring when fish move into shallower coves. Summer months tend to bring the highest rainfall totals due to thunderstorms.
Winters are chilly but manageable, with January highs in the upper 40s Fahrenheit and lows near freezing. Snow is rare and usually light. Many lake-area parks stay open year-round, but on-water amenities such as marinas, snack bars, and paddle boats often run reduced hours between late fall and spring.

This was my first experience personally using an RV rental service and it could not have gone better. Zack was very helpful and accommodating with all the questions and concerns I had and I would not hesitate to rent from him again. Pick up and drop off was very flexible. The unit was very clean. Everything worked as it should.

Cannot say enough good things about our experience renting from Corey. Very helpful with the renting process and what to expect. I chose the drop off option and it went very smooth - Corey gave a detailed rundown of the RV making sure I knew the basics. Everything was as described, well maintained, and just what we were looking for for our few days away. Corey was quick to respond when I had any questions and made sure everything was good. Highly recommend renting from Corey!

How to book campgrounds near Faith
Dan Nicholas Park uses an online reservation system through Campspot, with phone bookings available through the campground store. Sites and cabins fill quickly for summer weekends and around the Faith Fourth of July celebration, so reserve early. Adults 21 or older must register and occupy each site, and the wooded sites are limited to one RV or one travel trailer, or two tents, per site.
Private parks including Tamarac Marina and Campground, High Rock Lake Marina and Campground, Cross Winds Family Campground, and Carolina Rose Campground take reservations directly by phone or through their websites, and several list on third-party booking platforms.
For RV renters, confirm site length, hookup type (30- or 50-amp), pull-through availability, and pet rules before booking, especially at lakefront sites where slips and shoreline pads vary in size.
What to expect on the ground
Terrain around Faith is gently rolling Piedmont, with wooded campsites away from the lake and flatter, more open sites along the water. Cell coverage varies by carrier and can be limited inside Dan Nicholas Park, and I-85 keeps grocery stores, fuel, and RV supplies within a short drive in Salisbury.
Lakefront parks are working marinas as well as campgrounds. Expect boat traffic, fuel docks, and live entertainment on weekends at Tamarac Marina and Campground, and family-oriented amenities such as fishing docks and shoreline sites at High Rock Lake Marina and Campground. Dan Nicholas Park is quieter, more wooded, and shares grounds with the day-use attractions.
Mosquitoes and ticks are common in summer. Bring insect repellent, sun protection for open water, and reservations for holiday weekends well in advance.
