Campgrounds near Jonesville, NC
Jonesville sits on the south bank of the Yadkin River in the North Carolina foothills, directly across from Elkin and about 40 miles west of Winston-Salem. The town anchors the Yadkin Valley wine region and gives RV travelers quick access to Interstate 77, the Blue Ridge foothills, and the Mountains-to-Sea Trail corridor.
Most RV camping in the immediate area is concentrated along the Yadkin River, within a few miles of downtown. Hometown RV Park and Riverwalk at Yadkin River RV Park (also listed as Riverwalk on the Yadkin RV Park) sit on the river with full hookups and direct access to the Jonesville Greenway. Byrds Branch Campground and Country Store lies a short drive west near Elkin, and Holly Ridge Family Campground is southeast in the Boonville direction.
Stone Mountain State Park, roughly a 30-minute drive northwest, adds a public-land option for travelers who want a rustic campground within a state park rather than a private RV resort.
Things to do near Jonesville
The Yadkin Valley is North Carolina's largest wine region, with numerous wineries within a 30-minute drive of Jonesville and Elkin. Riverwalk at Yadkin River RV Park sits adjacent to the Jonesville Greenway and a few minutes from downtown Elkin's breweries, restaurants, and shops, and Hometown RV Park offers similar access to the riverfront corridor.
Stone Mountain State Park is the main outdoor draw: a 600-foot granite dome with more than 18 miles of hiking trails, more than 20 miles of designated trout waters, and permitted rock climbing on the dome face. The Mountains-to-Sea Trail runs through downtown Elkin, with short hikes to Carter Falls and area vineyards.
The Yadkin River itself supports kayaking, tubing, and fishing, with local outfitters in Elkin and Jonesville.

Spring and fall are the busiest seasons in the Yadkin Valley. April through June brings mild days, active wineries, and the highest rainfall of the year, with April averaging around 88 mm of precipitation. October is the peak tourism month in the Elkin area, driven by fall color in the surrounding foothills and Blue Ridge, so private RV parks near Jonesville and campsites at Stone Mountain State Park tend to fill first on weekends.
Summer is warm and humid, with July highs averaging near 30°C and afternoon thunderstorms common. Higher-elevation sites at Stone Mountain and along the Blue Ridge Parkway run several degrees cooler than the valley floor.
Winter is quieter but not shut down. Most private campgrounds along the Yadkin River stay open year-round, though some amenities close seasonally. Stone Mountain State Park stays open in winter, but the visitor center operates on reduced weekday-only hours from December through February, running Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This was my first experience personally using an RV rental service and it could not have gone better. Zack was very helpful and accommodating with all the questions and concerns I had and I would not hesitate to rent from him again. Pick up and drop off was very flexible. The unit was very clean. Everything worked as it should.

How to book RV sites near Jonesville
Private campgrounds near Jonesville accept online reservations directly through their own websites or through third-party platforms such as Campspot. Riverwalk sites, in particular, book well in advance for fall weekends and Yadkin Valley wine events, so travelers targeting September or October should reserve several months out.
Stone Mountain State Park uses the North Carolina State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica. Family campground sites can be booked up to 6 months in advance, and any site not reserved is available first-come, first-served. Back Country Primitive Sites along Widow's Creek Trail require advance reservations. Group camping reservations must be cancelled at least 14 days before arrival.
For holiday weekends and October color, book both private and state park sites as early as possible.
What to expect on arrival
Private parks near Jonesville are small to mid-sized and family-run. Hometown RV Park and both Riverwalk properties offer full hookups with pull-through and back-in sites. Riverwalk features a swimming pond known as Barefoot Beach, a paved riverside path along the Jonesville Greenway, and Angry Troll Brewing onsite. Byrds Branch Campground and Country Store lies in the surrounding foothills with a country-store setting.
Stone Mountain's family campground has 90 sites across three loops, with about 41 sites offering electric hookups. Sites include a tent pad, table, fire ring, and grill; a dump station, flush toilets, and hot showers are available on-site, but there are no sewer hookups at individual sites.
Cell service is generally reliable in Jonesville and Elkin and can be spotty inside Stone Mountain State Park.

Renting an RV in Jonesville, NC is one of the most affordable ways to explore Yadkin Valley wine country. Most RV rentals in Jonesville range from about $90 to $175 per night for travel trailers and campervans, while larger Class A motorhomes typically run $200 to $325 per night. Because hosts on RVezy set their own pricing, mileage allowances, and add-ons, you can filter listings by price to find a cheap RV rental in Jonesville that fits your budget. Pair the savings with a stay at Hometown RV Park on Dwayne Street and you've got a high-value Yadkin Valley getaway.
visitjonesvillenc.com/Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Jonesville?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Jonesville for the vast majority of rigs on RVezy. North Carolina does not require a commercial driver license (CDL) for recreational vehicles, and Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels all fall comfortably within standard license limits. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID securely during booking. Visiting from abroad? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association before your trip. That's it, no special test, no extra paperwork, just pick up your motorhome rental Jonesville and hit I-77.
ncdot.gov/dmv/license-id/driver-licenses/commercial/Pages/default.aspxWhat protection and roadside support comes with my Jonesville RV rental?
Every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can explore the Blue Ridge foothills with real peace of mind. During checkout, you choose the protection tier that best fits your trip (Basic, Standard, or Premium), and each level provides coverage for damage to the RV along with liability protection designed specifically for peer-to-peer RV rentals. Roadside assistance is included at no extra cost and covers flat tires, lockouts, jump-starts, fuel delivery, and towing. So whether you're parked at Riverwalk RV Park along the Yadkin River or winding up to Stone Mountain State Park, help is one phone call away, day or night.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Jonesville RV trip?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy uses a clear, platform-wide cancellation policy that applies to every trip (this is set by RVezy, not by individual hosts), and you can review the exact terms during checkout before you confirm. Refund amounts depend on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or helps you rebook. Yadkin Valley sees occasional ice storms in January and February and rare tropical remnants in late summer, so plan flexible dates around those windows. Pro tip: lock in your dates early for Yadkin Valley Wine Festival weekends in Elkin so you don't miss out.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Jonesville RV rental?
Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in Jonesville is easy to find on RVezy. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when searching and you'll see listings where dogs are welcome, with some hosts even providing bowls, beds, and crates. Jonesville is great for dog owners: Stone Mountain State Park allows leashed pets on trails and at campsites (not inside buildings), and many area RV parks have dog-friendly amenities and nearby walking paths along the Yadkin River. Message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees, breed, or weight rules, and your pup is set for a Yadkin Valley adventure.
ncparks.gov/state-parks/stone-mountain-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campground or vacation rental in Jonesville?
Yes, RV delivery in Jonesville is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if it's your first time renting an RV. Many RVezy hosts will drive the rig to a local campground, private property, or even a winery group site, then level it, hook up water, sewer, and 30/50 amp power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees are usually based on distance from the host's home base, and you'll see them clearly during booking. Filter listings by Delivery, message the host with your destination address, and confirm the drop-off time. Then your only job is to show up and enjoy.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106494-What-is-RV-deliveryHow far can I drive from Jonesville on an RV trip?

Popular routes include the Blue Ridge Parkway (about 25 to 35 minutes north), Stone Mountain State Park in Roaring Gap (around 30 minutes), Mount Airy and the Andy Griffith sites (about 40 minutes), Boone and the High Country (roughly 1 hour 15 minutes), Charlotte (about 1 hour 30 minutes), and Asheville (around 2 hours 30 minutes). Each RVezy host sets their own mileage policy, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer Jonesville RV trip. Check the listing's mileage details and message the host if you're planning a bigger loop.

Mayberry Campground near Mount Airy is another solid pick about 40 minutes away. Reserve Stone Mountain through the North Carolina State Parks reservation system, and book private parks directly through their websites for the best availability.
ncparks.gov/state-parks/stone-mountain-state-park/campingWhen is the best time to visit Jonesville in an RV?
Jonesville is a true four-season destination, but spring (April to May) and fall (mid-September through early November) are the sweet spots. Spring brings comfortable 65 to 78 degree days, blooming vineyards, and the lead-up to grape harvest. Fall delivers peak Blue Ridge foliage along the Parkway and crisp 50 to 70 degree weather, ideal for campfires at Stone Mountain. Summer (June to August) reaches the mid-80s with humidity, great for tubing the Yadkin River. Winter is mild compared to the mountains (30s to 50s) and many area wineries stay open, making December through March a cozy, crowd-free option. Local insider tip: check the Yadkin Valley Wine Festival calendar in Elkin when planning a spring trip.
weather.gov/rnk/I've never driven an RV before. Is renting in Jonesville beginner-friendly?
Yes, Jonesville is one of the friendlier places in North Carolina to be a first-time RV renter. The terrain around town is gently rolling Yadkin Valley foothills (not steep mountain switchbacks), I-77 and US-21 are wide and well-marked, and most local campgrounds have generous pull-through sites. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, water systems, propane, and dumping, so you're never tossed the keys and left to figure it out. You can also message your host with questions before booking. Pro tip: start with a Class C motorhome or travel trailer, they handle like a large van and build confidence fast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002180533-GuestsWhat happens if something breaks down during my Jonesville RV trip?
You're never alone on the road. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, whether you're stranded on the Blue Ridge Parkway, parked at Stone Mountain State Park, or pulled over on I-77 near Elkin. One call connects you to help for flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing. For RV-specific systems like a water pump or AC unit, your host is your first call (their number is in your trip details), and most Jonesville hosts respond quickly because they live nearby. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Save both numbers in your phone before you leave so you're ready for anything.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my Jonesville RV rental across state lines or to Canada?
Yes, interstate RV travel is welcome on most Jonesville rentals, and that's a big plus given the location. Popular cross-state routes from Jonesville include Wytheville, Virginia (about 1 hour up I-77), the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus, and South Carolina's Lake Hartwell (around 3 hours south). Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and their insurance, so message the host directly from the listing before booking to confirm. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: if you're planning an RV road trip from Jonesville up the I-77 corridor into Virginia, mention it in your booking message so your host can plan mileage accordingly.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Jonesville RV trip?
Fuel is one of the biggest variables, but Jonesville's central location keeps costs reasonable. Expect 7 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG) for Class A motorhomes, 10 to 14 MPG for Class C, 15 to 20 MPG for campervans, and your tow vehicle's normal MPG (minus 20 to 30 percent) when pulling a travel trailer. North Carolina gas prices typically run a few cents below the national average, and the truck stops near I-77 Exits 82 and 85 offer easy diesel and gas fill-ups with RV-friendly pumps. Budgeting tip: for a 3-day, 300-mile round trip from Jonesville to Boone and back in a Class C, plan on roughly $90 to $130 in fuel.
gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Jonesville?
Reserve as early as you can, especially for weekends. Stone Mountain State Park accepts reservations up to 6 months in advance through the North Carolina State Parks reservation system, and its electric sites fill quickly from May through October and on fall foliage weekends. Private RV parks in Jonesville can usually be booked 2 to 4 months out, but wine festival weekends in spring and early fall sell out faster. Pro tip: if Stone Mountain is full, try Doughton Park along the Blue Ridge Parkway about 45 minutes away, or set up a cancellation alert to grab spots when other campers drop their reservations.
ncparks.gov/state-parks/stone-mountain-state-park/campingWhat are the driving conditions like in and around Jonesville?
Driving in Jonesville is refreshingly stress-free for an RV. The town sits at I-77 Exit 82, and the surrounding Yadkin Valley is gently rolling, not the steep, switchback terrain you'll find further west toward Boone. The main routes (I-77, US-21, NC-67, and NC-268) are wide with RV-friendly shoulders. Watch for two things: the climb up US-21 toward the Blue Ridge Parkway gains elevation quickly (drop a gear and take it easy), and Yadkin Valley wineries are linked by narrow two-lane country roads where wide turns matter. Winter ice is possible December through February, so check NCDOT's DriveNC alerts before heading out. Local tip: avoid I-77 northbound on Sunday afternoons when weekend traffic from Charlotte heads home.
drivenc.gov/What amenities can I expect at campgrounds in Jonesville?
Jonesville-area campgrounds are well-equipped. Private RV parks in town typically offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric), park-wide WiFi, laundry, private bathhouses, camp stores, and dog parks, with some sites located along the Yadkin River. Stone Mountain State Park is more rustic: 37 sites have electric hookups, all sites share centralized potable water faucets and bathhouses with hot showers, and there's a dump station available for registered campers. Pro tip: fill your fresh water tank before heading to Stone Mountain since individual sites don't have water hookups at the pad.
ncparks.gov/state-parks/stone-mountain-state-park/campingWhat's typically included inside a Jonesville RV rental?
Most Jonesville RV rentals come fully equipped so you can just pack clothes and groceries. Expect comfortable beds (queen or king in the master, plus convertible dinettes and bunks depending on the floorplan), a full kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with roof AC and furnace, and seatbelts for travel passengers. Many rigs include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, awning, outdoor chairs, and a generator for off-grid use. WiFi varies, with some hosts including mobile hotspots, especially for remote stays near Stone Mountain. Listings on RVezy show a clear amenity checklist, and you can filter by sleeps count, RV type, and features. Message the host if you need specifics like a CPAP-friendly outlet or extra bedding.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Jonesville%2C%20North%20CarolinaWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
Hosts in Jonesville offer a great range of add-ons that make your trip smoother. Common extras include linen and towel packages, kitchen kits, camping chairs and tables, bike racks, generators, propane top-offs, and pet kits. Many hosts offer delivery and setup (often a flat fee plus per-mile charge to local campgrounds or Stone Mountain State Park). Mileage policies vary, with some including 100 to 150 free miles per night and others offering unlimited mileage. Use the Instant Book filter if you want immediate confirmation. Pro tip: ask about a dump-and-clean add-on, it's worth the small fee to skip dirty work at trip's end.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Jonesville%2C%20North%20CarolinaHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy at booking with a credit or debit card, and your money is held safely until your trip starts. A separate refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before pickup (the amount varies by RV type and host), and it's released back to you after the trip once the host confirms the rig is returned clean, undamaged, and within mileage. To avoid hold-ups, do a quick walkaround video at pickup and drop-off, refill fuel and propane to the levels noted, and empty the gray and black tanks if your rental agreement requires it. That's it, no surprise charges, just a smooth handoff and a great Jonesville RV trip.
