Campgrounds and RV parks near Maysville, NC

Maysville sits in Jones County in eastern North Carolina, on the western edge of the Croatan National Forest. The forest covers roughly 160,000 acres of pine forests, bogs, estuaries, and raised swamps called pocosins, and is bordered on three sides by tidal rivers and Bogue Sound. That puts RV travellers within easy reach of both inland coastal forest and the Crystal Coast. Developed RV camping inside the national forest is limited. Most developed camping sits on the outskirts of the forest, while options deep inside are typically dispersed sites managed by the Forest Service, so travellers who want hookups and amenities generally choose privately-owned campgrounds and resorts that border it. Nearby private resorts include The Lakes RV & Cabin Resort just outside Maysville, White Oak Shores Camping and RV Resort, Deep Creek RV Resort and Campground, Waterway RV Resort, and Holiday Trav-L-Park Resort For Campers. From Maysville, day trips reach New Bern to the north, Swansboro and Emerald Isle to the south, and Jacksonville to the west, making it a practical base for coastal and forest itineraries.

Private resorts around Maysville, including The Lakes RV & Cabin Resort, White Oak Shores Camping and RV Resort, Waterway RV Resort, Deep Creek RV Resort and Campground, and Holiday Trav-L-Park Resort For Campers, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. White Oak Shores and Waterway also operate within the Thousand Trails network, so members can book through that system as well. For national forest sites in the Croatan, reservations are handled through Recreation.gov. At Cedar Point, 32 of the 36 sites are reservable online or by phone, while 4 remain first-come, first-served; reservations must be made at least three days in advance, and there is a 14-night maximum consecutive stay. Summer weekends and holidays fill early at the private resorts, so booking several weeks ahead is advisable during peak season.
