Campgrounds and RV parks near Minnesott Beach, NC

Minnesott Beach sits on the north bank of the Neuse River in Pamlico County, North Carolina, roughly 24 miles from New Bern and a short ferry ride from the Croatan National Forest. The small coastal town takes its name from an old Indigenous word meaning land of the sky-tinted waters, a reference to the wide Neuse River that defines the area. The setting suits RV travelers who want quiet water access without the crowds of the Crystal Coast beach towns. Private RV parks in the area cover both sides of the river. Dixon Landing RV Resort and Moonlight Lake RV Park and Campground sit on the Pamlico side within easy reach of Oriental and the ferry terminal. Beaufort Waterway RV Park, Beaufort Waterfront RV, and River's Edge Family Campground extend the options south toward Beaufort and the Intracoastal Waterway. The free NCDOT ferry between Minnesott Beach and Cherry Branch crosses the Neuse in about 20 minutes and runs roughly every 30 minutes with no reservations needed, giving RV renters flexible day-trip access to Havelock, Beaufort, and the Croatan National Forest.

Private RV parks in the Minnesott Beach, Oriental, and Beaufort area, including Dixon Landing RV Resort, Moonlight Lake RV Park and Campground, Beaufort Waterway RV Park, Beaufort Waterfront RV, and River's Edge Family Campground, are booked directly with each park by phone or through their websites. Waterfront and pull-through sites for larger rigs tend to book earliest for summer weekends and holiday periods. For Croatan National Forest campgrounds such as Flanners Beach, Cedar Point, and Oyster Point, reservations are handled through recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777. A rolling six-month booking window applies, so spring and summer sites should be reserved well in advance. Dispersed sites in the forest are typically first-come, first-served.
