Cotton Patch RV Campground is the closest option in town, with Morrow Mountain State Park a short drive south near Albemarle. Tamarac Marina and Campground and Dan Nicholas Park sit to the north near Salisbury, and Norwood Campground lies to the south near Lake Tillery.
The area blends Piedmont woodlands with large reservoirs formed by dams on the Yadkin and Pee Dee. Recreation is plentiful in and around Lake Tillery and the Yadkin and Pee Dee River, with fishing and boating popular, and miles of trails to travel on foot or horseback.
Things to do near New London
Water recreation drives most trips. Lake Tillery and Badin Lake support fishing, boating, swimming, and paddling, and High Rock Lake to the north adds more launch options. Highs in spring and fall generally run in the 60s and 70s. Wildflowers and dogwoods peak in April, and hardwood color builds through October and into early November.
Summer brings the heaviest bookings and the hottest, muggiest conditions. Highs reach the upper 80s and low 90s with high humidity. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, and lakeside sites at Tamarac Marina and Campground and Norwood Campground fill early on holiday weekends. This was my first experience personally using an RV rental service and it could not have gone better. Zack was very helpful and accommodating with all the questions and concerns I had and I would not hesitate to rent from him again. Pick up and drop off was very flexible. The unit was very clean. Everything worked as it should.

Corey and Ashley were wonderful. Very nice RV. Pictures don’t it justice. Obviously well taken care of. I will definitely be renting from them again.

Cannot say enough good things about our experience renting from Corey. Very helpful with the renting process and what to expect. I chose the drop off option and it went very smooth - Corey gave a detailed rundown of the RV making sure I knew the basics. Everything was as described, well maintained, and just what we were looking for for our few days away. Corey was quick to respond when I had any questions and made sure everything was good. Highly recommend renting from Corey!
